Position Summary  

 

The Nestlé System Technology Centre (NSTC) in Orbe is Nestlé’s leading R&D centre for the design, development and deployment of Nestlé delivery systems, offering expertise in machines, packaging and products for in-home and out-of-home. 

 

As a R&D Master Trainee, you will deliver a small project in the area of System and Product Interaction and System Performance for Nestlé Professional Business.

A Day in the Life of an R&D Master Trainee

 

  • Design of Experiments: Prepare the design of an experiment in the area of System Performance using personal and institutional knowledge. Conduct research on the topic - including scientific literature review - to present a viable project, taking into account context, requirements and innovation needs
  • Research methodology: Definite the best test methodology to be used and perform defined tests 
  • Results collection: Provide the collected data and report results in dedicated files or in data acquisition systems by using computers; summarize results for decision making
  • Laboratory work: Conduct experiments and tests and participate to potential product and system parts prototyping
  • Final Report: Prepare, write and present a final report of the project

 

What will make you successful

 

  • Student or fresh graduate in a Master’s Degree in Materials Science & Engineering / mechanical engineering, Food engineering, Physics or related fields
  • Previous experience in a scientific environment with lab activities and data analysis
  • Previous experience involving product development / food prototyping / food processing is a plus
  • Attention to details and system thinking
  • Knowledge in digital or data science is a plus
  • Good communication skills
  • Proactive, agile and independent
  • Fluent in English, French is a plus
