The Nestlé System Technology Centre (NSTC) in Orbe is Nestlé’s leading R&D center for the design, development and deployment of Nestlé delivery systems, offering expertise in machines, packaging and products for in-home and out-of-home.

As an R&D Specialist for Coffee Machine development, you will drive the development of new coffee machines and lead the entirety of the projects from concept to production. You will ensure that they meet high standards of quality, are delivered on time and within budget in alignment with the department strategy. You will collaborate cross functionally with the relevant internal stakeholders and suppliers throughout the project, from marketing brief, first feasibility assessment, concept design and choice of the technologies to be used. A Day in the Life of a R&D Specialist for Coffee Machine development

 

  • Lead, manage and provide technical guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle, including design, prototyping, testing, and manufacturing.
  • Drive the development of new coffee machine models, including defining product requirements, conducting feasibility studies, and creating detailed project plans.
  • Manage relationships with external development partners and Original Equipment Manufacturers.
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project delays, cost overruns, and quality issues.
  • Collaborate closely with marketing team to elaborate product requirements ensuring the coffee machines meet market demands and align with the company's brand strategy.
  • Collaborate with quality specialists to establish validation plan and to define quality control processes.

 

What will make you successful

 

  • Degree in Mechanics, automation or Microtechnology or equivalent.
  • 7-10 years’ relevant technical project management experience ideally in coffee machines or small domestic appliance.
  • Strong background in mechanical engineering principles, including design, materials and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Influencing and negotiating skills with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Fluent in English and French, German is a plus.
