Position Summary
The Nestlé Product Technology Centre Coffee (NPTC Coffee) is the leading R&D organization that discovers, develops and deploys coffee and beverage products and technologies for in-home and out-of-home consumption. It consists of units in Konolfingen (CH), Marysville (USA), Orbe (CH) and Singapore and provide new products and processes to all Nestlé markets worldwide.

As an R&D Trainee, you will have the exciting opportunity to support a project focused on the robotization of coffee creamer processing. This project involves utilizing AI/ML approach to accelerate creamer development efficiency and accelerate formulation optimization.

A Day in the Life of a R&D Trainee
Participate in a research and development project in collaboration with various Nestlé R&D facilities and an academic partner to support implementation of ML-assisted robotic system:
- Produce lab scale concept samples and perform analytical characterization
- Evaluate and optimize ML models
- Produce various reports: scientific study and standard operational procedure
What will make you successful
- Student or recent graduate with a Master's degree in Colloids Science, Food Science and/or Data Science
- Solid knowledge in soft matter both from theoretical and practical sides
- Strong interest in programming
- Previous experience with data science or machine learning
- Previous experience using Python is a plus
- Autonomous and proactive mindset
- Agile with excellent practical skills
- Curious and interest in learning by doing
- Good communication skills in English
- Fluent in French and English
