Position Summary
The Nestlé Product Technology Centre Coffee (NPTC Coffee) is the leading R&D organization that discover, develop and deploy coffee and beverage products and technologies for in-home and out-of-home consumption. It consists of units in Konolfingen (CH), Marysville (USA), Orbe (CH) and Singapore and provide new products and processes to all Nestlé markets worldwide.

As an R&D Trainee in Graphic Design, you will provide support to the design team working on the Front end Innovation team, responsible of the development of innovative concepts for all Nestlé Coffee Brands.

A Day in the Life of an R&D Trainee in Graphic Design
- Work on developing innovative and consumer-centric design concepts for all Nestlé Coffee Brands
- Translate concept ideas into visual representations, including sketches, storyboards, renders, prototypes, and landing pages, to make the ideas tangible
- Stay updated with the latest trends and innovations in design, products, methodologies, and tools, and proactively propose new trends and methodologies
- Collaborate effectively with designer colleagues across international locations, fostering knowledge sharing for design excellence.
- Provide support in transforming a 2D proposition into a final mock-up that reproduces the final consumer experience on shelves or in the appropriate channel
- Collaborate on the development of internal communication products by conceptualizing and refining ideas, working with the internal team to ensure alignment, and identifying optimal printing solutions (materials, finishes, colors), etc.
What will make you successful
- Student or fresh graduate in Design (Graphic, Industrial, or UX/UI)
- Previous experience in packaging, structural design, Industrial design or UX/UI design, Photography is appreciated
- Experience with printing and finishes would be a plus
- Basic understanding of brand visual identity, portfolio architecture, design thinking, communication, and consumer centricity
- Familiarity with semiotics, immersion, and other design thinking methodologies is a plus
- Portfolio demonstrating strong, modern design aesthetics
- Excellent skills in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. Creative Cloud tools is preferred
- Used to use generative AI tools to develop prompts that yield high-quality image solutions
- Ability to work with an international design team using remote communication tools
- Collaboration, networking, self-directed curiosity, and creativity skills
- Fluent in English
