Position Summary  

 

The Nestlé System Technology Centre (NSTC) in Orbe is Nestlé’s leading R&D centre for the design, development and deployment of Nestlé delivery systems, offering expertise in machines, packaging and products for in-home and out-of-home. 

 

As an X-Ray Tomography Methods Development Engineering Intern, you will provide support to the team in the operation of an X-ray tomograph in metrology, material characterization and beverage system interaction. You will conduct X-Ray tomography scans, analyze them and perform measurement to answer requests from projects and explore the technology capabilities, such as 2D mapping of material density and fluidic line imaging with contrast agent. In addition, you will develop data management to transfer the measurement results to internal stakeholders and feed simulation or predictive models.

A Day in the Life of an X-Ray Tomography Methods Development Engineering Intern 

 

  • Assist the team in the operation of the tomograph, providing technical and operational support 
  • Explore image analysis and related tools
  • Conduct in-depth analysis and support research driven by Quality Methods Specialists in defining new scan methods and measurement strategies 

 

What will make you successful

 

  • Currently studying a Master’s degree in Material Sciences, Physics or related fields 
  • Strong interest in laboratory work and for microscopy and image analysis
  • Good knowledge in coding. Knowledge in Python or R a plus
  • Team player with the ability to work autonomously
  • Organized and efficient mindset
  • Fluent in English, French an asset
