We are looking for a Business Unit Controller to act as a co-pilot to the Business Executive Manager, driving the business through insightful financial analysis and fact-based decision making. The role ensures Business Unit strategy and performance are aligned with market and SBU objectives, while leading the Business Planning and Forecasting processes and ensuring compliance with F&C guidelines.

 

A day in the Life of a Business Unit Controller

  • Proactively influence and facilitate strategy formulation through the MBS process by evaluating and formalising strategies using financial modelling.
  • Drive the Monthly Business Planning process, ensuring transparency, target achievement, discipline and compliance.
  • Provide quality financial insights to support fact-based decision making while identifying and anticipating business risks and opportunities.
  • Review monthly business performance, identify risks and opportunities against targets, and support action plans and ATNWC reduction where applicable.
  • Analyse and challenge Procurement, Supply Chain and Factory performance using key financial indicators, while promoting Return on Invested Capital (ROIC) and CAPEX optimisation.
  • Support Business Innovation and Renovation initiatives through financial analysis and business partnering.
  • Analyse the product portfolio to optimise pricing, resource allocation, TTS/PFME/CAPEX investments, eliminate value destroyers, and maximise ROIC.
  • Support ad hoc strategic initiatives such as manufacturing and sourcing strategies, restructuring, M&A, and continuous business improvement.
  • Contribute to people development, succession planning, and promote financial awareness among non-finance stakeholders.
  • Act as the Compliance Champion by driving compliance awareness, maintaining ownership of relevant compliance documents, and coordinating updates to the Compliance Matrix with Legal & Compliance.Top of Form

Job Requirements

  • Experience in one or more Finance & Control (F&C) roles with team management responsibility (MANCOM exposure is an advantage).
  • Prior experience in Accounting or Finance, preferably as a Sales, Factory or Supply Chain Controller.
  • Experience in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry.
  • Experience working within a network organisation, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting, with a professional accounting qualification preferred.
