Position summary:

 

In order to implement and drive the success of our procurement model and to complete the team of Global Transport category, we are looking for a highly competent Procurement Buyer based in Panama City.  

Reporting directly to the Regional Procurement Category Leader, you will be responsible for implementing the category strategy for the Air Freight, Pricing desk Management and Tender Analytical on a global level utilizing strategic sourcing processes, tools and policies. Knowledge on Ocean and other logistics verticals will be an added advantage.

A day in a life of a Buyer – Air Freight:

 

  • Execute digital Air pricing requests in Keelvar, providing manual support as needed, and assist markets operationally during issues and escalations to ensure supply.
  • Calculate Cost Improvement per OPEX Mandatory Standards and update Standard Routines for pricing and Air Freight Procurement processes.
  • Implement category strategies using Strategic Sourcing tools while conducting supplier market analysis and developing Total Cost Ownership (TCO) models for improvement opportunities.
  • Negotiate contracts for optimal agreements with suppliers and manage stakeholder relationships to align category plans with local budgets.
  • Lead planning and contract SLA reviews with suppliers, conduct regular performance reviews, and identify logistics optimization opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with Nestlé's Corporate Business Principles
  • Support the Ocean Freight team with spot buying and strategy implementation.

 

What makes you successful

 

  • University degree in Procurement, Business Administration, or Supply Chain.
  • Proven success in developing and implementing sourcing strategies for logistics categories (Air, Ocean, or Forwarding), with experience in Procurement/Supply Chain or Air Freight operations as a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of trading terms (Incoterms), forwarding activities, and pricing models for Air & Ocean transport.
  • High adaptability and ability to lead projects in a multicultural environment, demonstrating risk management and responsible sourcing.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across complex organizations.
  • Understanding of National and International Procurement Regulations.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in additional languages is an asset.
  • Outgoing personality with strong relationship-building skills with suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Experience in managing or procuring logistics services, with flexibility to work across time zones.
  • Strong organizational skills, stress resistance, and effective prioritization.
