Position Summary 

We are currently looking for a highly competent Global Buyer based in Panama responsible for managing commercial and sourcing activities within the Generic Equipment Procurement Team.

Reporting directly to the Global Category Lead, you will be responsible for conducting sourcing activities for the Generic Equipment spend in scope on a global level by using strategic sourcing processes, tools and policies.

A day in a life of a Buyer for Generic Equipment :

  • Support the Global Category Team in implementing the category strategies.
  • Manage the category spend autonomously with a focus on Latam, North America and Europe. 
  • Execute on time sourcing projects to deliver expected cost reduction levels using  Strategic Sourcing processes, tools and policies such as catalogue pricing, RFI/RFP, standardization, e-auctions, aggregation of spend, and best cost country sourcing.
  • Create a competitive environment for Nestlé’s needs.
  • Support general terms and conditions and contract negotiations to ensure the most beneficial commercial agreements with suppliers in line with the strategy.   
  • Manage the relationship with market stakeholders to integrate the category strategy.
  • Ensure compliance to Nestlé's Corporate Business Principles, policies and standards.

 

What makes you successful:

  • Honors University degree in either an engineering or a scientific subject, or in Procurement/Supply Chain.
  • Strong and established experience of sourcing experience in technical categories. Knowledge on Laboratory, supplies, service and equipment would be a clear advantage.
  • Strong flexibility and mental agility to work in a cross-functional environment within a highly-complex global environment.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with individuals across a global network
  • Demonstrate successful use of effective category sourcing e-tools and understanding of risk management.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with individuals across a global network
  • Fluency in English, and ideally Spanish.
