Position Summary 

 

We are currently looking for a highly competent Buyer based in Panama, responsible for managing the Sucrose procurement spend and sourcing strategy for Central America and Caribbean. This role will also support our Sourcing Strategy on major ESG and cost savings projects in key markets such as Brazil, USA, Mexico and Chile.   

 

Reporting directly to the Global Category Leader, you will be responsible for defining and implementing the category strategy for the spend in scope on a global level, utilizing strategic sourcing processes, tools and policies.

A day in a life of a Global Buyer for Sucrose:

 

  • Perform supplier market/category/supply risk analysis and develop Total Cost Ownership (TCO) models for our Sucrose Central America and Caribbean markets in the sucrose spend categories.
  • Contribute and provide project support for our key ESG projects, GHG, and Responsible Sourcing initiatives.
  • Negotiate contracts ensuring the most beneficial commercial agreements with suppliers in line with the strategy.  
  • Manage the relationship with various stakeholders to integrate category plans and outcomes in local budgets and price planning.
  • Collect and analyze data to support development of Sucrose sourcing strategies. 
  • Lead facilitation and collaborate with Winrock, SAT team and Responsible Sourcing Team on Team requests, Supplier Communications and follow ups, as required. 
  • Act as a key lead and facilitator with on ESG topics: Pro-Forest and Responsible Sourcing Team on HREDD, Responsible Sourcing Status and Deforestation, etc.                                                     
  • Run the daily administrative tasks and ensure they are carried out in a timely and organized manner.
  • Ensure compliance to Nestlé's Corporate Business Principles, policies and standards.

 

What makes you successful:

 

  • University degree in Procurement, Business Administration, Supply Chain, Economics, Finance or related field.
  • Experience in Procurement and/or Supply Chain
  • Experience in sourcing or strategic procurement, ideally gained in sucrose
  • Background or experience in ESG, Climate topis or sustainable sourcing preferred. 
  • Strong expertise in SAP, Microsoft and other Nestle related computer applications.
  • Knowledge of supplier relationship management.   
  • Rich analytical and project management skills.
  • Experience of negotiation and communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with individuals across a complex organization.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish.
