Position Summary

 

We are currently looking for an experienced Global Category Expert- Meat based in Panama, responsible for developing category strategies and providing market intelligence to support the commercial and sourcing activities for Nestle businesses. 
 
Reporting to the Global Category Leader - Meat, your role will involve delivering comprehensive market insights mainly into the USA meat industry and transforming these insights into targeted opportunities for value creation within Nestle businesses.

A day in a life of a Global Category Expert for Meat:
 
•    Perform supplier market analysis, category analysis, supply risk analysis, and develop TCO understanding for meat categories. Translate pricing outcomes into pricing insights to ensure lowest prices are delivered to Nestlé USA in line with US regulatory requirements.
•    Develop the category strategies, utilizing the Strategic Sourcing Process’ tools, templates and price risk management
•    Lead Monthly Policy Calls for US Meat as well as take the lead in managing US Meat hedging strategy in consultation with PRM and Middle Office teams.
•    Integrate innovation, renovation and post award cost improvement elements from suppliers into Nestlé's innovation and renovation processes with a focus on Simplex/Tasty initiatives in partnership with Nestle business units. 
•    Act as a climate and Supplier Business Review SPOC for key US meat suppliers, and partner with internal and external stakeholders to deliver climate initiatives and projects. 
•    Ensure compliance with Nestlé's Corporate Business Principles, policies and standards.

 


What will make you successful:
 
•    10+ years of Animal Proteins experience, ideally with meat in USA. 
•    Direct experience managing US meat suppliers and in-depth understanding of the US meat industry including.
•    Demonstrated successful use of risk management, responsible sourcing and supplier relationship management.
•    Significant experience with driving and delivering significant cost savings with key suppliers and working with cross functional stakeholders such as supply chain, R&D, Q.A, Logistics and Regulatory.
•    Solid network within the USA meat industry and USA based suppliers.
•    Experience in ESG climate initiatives with a specific emphasis on GHG reduction preferably within the meat industry.
•    Fluency in English is essential. Multi-lingual abilities are advantageous.
