Position Summary:
 
An opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic Strategic Buyer to join our IT team responsible for managing commercial and sourcing activities for IT services used by Nestlé worldwide. 

 

Based in Panama and reporting to the Global Category Leader, your primary responsibility will be to support Procurement Managers in the implementation of the category strategy on a regional & global level through the efficient use of strategic sourcing processes and tools. You will also take ownership of managing key projects (e.g. e-auction, harmonization, process optimization, sustainability) as well as manage RFx process.

A day in the life of a Strategic Buyer for IT:

 

  • Preparing and executing negotiation events - seeking best total cost of ownership (TCO) contracts and beneficial commercial agreements with suppliers as approved by the Procurement Managers 
  • Contributing to the global sourcing strategy by implementing the communication and supplier management plan.           
  • Ensuring compliance with Nestlé's Business Principles, policies and standards.
  • Identifying opportunities and managing regional/global projects to achieve business objectives

 

 

What will make you successful:

 

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience within Procurement (ideally within IT or other indirect procurement). Experience in risk management, responsible sourcing and supplier relationship management.
  • University degree in Procurement, Business Administration, Supply Chain, Economics, Finance or Information Technology.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering competitive advantage to the business through the development and implementation of sourcing strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with individuals across a complex organization.  
  • Curiosity, high learning speed and the agility to navigate ambiguity. 
  • Fluency in English (written and verbal) is essential. A strong interest in the IT industry is advantageous
