About the Role:
'Provide support on Electrical and Automation (E&A) professional and technical in the Factory for operational activities and during participation in CAPEX projects; doing so in line with corporate guidelines, enforcing that all E&A activities enhance business objectives, product quality and plant operation/performance while ensuring that people health and safety, product safety, and environment are never compromised..
Key Responsibilities:-
Accountable for the factory’s complete electrical systems, with key responsibilities outlined below:
Power Distribution: HT/LT substations, transformers, PCCs, MCCs, DG sets, UPS systems, and capacitor banks
Motors and Drives: All motors, VFDs, soft starters, and servo systems, from sizing through maintenance
Lighting and Utilities: Plant lighting, HVAC electrical systems, compressors, boilers, chillers, and related utilities
Electrical Safety: LOTO, earthing and grounding, lightning protection, arc flash studies, and related safety measures
Energy Management: Load monitoring, demand control, energy audits, and efficiency improvement initiatives
Statutory Compliance: CEIG approvals, coordination with electrical inspectors, and other statutory requirements
Accountable for the factory’s automation and control systems, with key responsibilities outlined below:
Control Systems: PLC, DCS, SCADA, and HMI systems, including logic development, backups, and version control
Instrumentation: Pressure, temperature, flow, level, and load cell sensors, along with calibration programs
Field Devices: Control valves, actuators, analyzers, drive integration, and PID tuning
Industrial Networks: Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Modbus, and Profinet networks, including OT cybersecurity and segmentation
Safety Systems: ESD, interlocks, BMS, fire alarms, and gas detection systems in line with SIL requirements
Data and MIS: Historian systems, OEE dashboards, alarm management, and production reporting
Responsible for complete maintenance and reliability of the factory’s E&A setup, in coordination with internal teams.
Preventive Maintenance: Plan and schedule IR thermography, breaker testing, relay testing, UPS battery health checks, earth pit testing, and related activities.
Predictive Maintenance: Conduct motor vibration analysis, partial discharge testing, DCS loop performance monitoring, and similar diagnostics.
Breakdown Response: Maintain a 24x7 support structure, perform RCA/5-Why analysis for major trips, and manage spare strategies for critical drives and PLCs.
Shutdown Planning: Manage electrical testing, panel cleaning, protection relay coordination, and loop checking during annual shutdowns.
Responsible for new projects and engineering in the factory, with end-to-end accountability for E&A.
New Installations: Review SLDs, load calculations, cable sizing, and panel GAs, and oversee FAT/SAT activities.
Upgrades: Lead VFD retrofits, PLC migrations, energy-efficient motor replacements, LED lighting improvements, and APFC enhancements.
Capex Execution: Prepare specifications, evaluate vendors, manage site execution, commission systems, and hand over as-built documentation.
Digitalization: Implement IIoT sensors, MES integration, predictive analytics, remote monitoring, and smart energy metering.
Responsible for team and governance activities related to the E&A department.
Team Management: Lead electricians, instrument technicians, and automation engineers, including shift rostering, skill matrix management, and training.
Budget and Cost: Manage the annual E&A maintenance budget, spares inventory, energy cost control, and contract negotiations.
Documentation: Maintain updated SLDs, P&IDs, loop diagrams, cause-and-effect matrices, cable schedules, and LOTO SOPs.
Vendor/AMC: Manage AMCs for DCS, drives, transformers, calibration labs, and OEM service contracts.
Audits: Support Nestlé internal audits, electrical safety audits, insurance surveys, and related assessments.
Education & Experience:
- B.Tech Electrical/Automation/EEE
- Minimum 6 years experience in Automation and/or MES engineer with Electrical experience.
- FMCG / Consumer industry experience preferred
