THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Category and Commercial Planning Manager to join our Category team (MDO) at Nestlé Purina New Zealand. As the Category and Commercial Planning Manager, you will be responsible for developing and deploying insights-driven category strategy with our trading partners, driving continuous improvement and positive commercial outcomes.
Moreover, you will work closely with Marketing and Customer teams in building both Category and Point of Purchase strategies. The role will also provide the opportunity to engage with Senior stakeholders across our business.

 

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF...
Reporting to the Head of Category (MDO), you will be joining at an exciting time as you will be putting together strong plans to accelerate category and brands performance in New Zealand which will include:
•    Drive the commercialization and execution of the Category Strategy, deploying category-based plans with retail partners to unlock incremental growth for the Petcare category and for Nestlé Purina.
•    Create ownership of the pet care picture of success and point of purchase vision, shaping and deploying a robust selling story in conjunction with the Commercial team to engage customers.
•    Review and enhance our commercial planning approach to deliver upon business expectations and KPIs, guiding the Monthly Business Planning process for the commercial planning team.
•    Provide Price and Promotional guidelines to the commercial team for optimization of their Trade spend investment.
•    Lead the Strategic Revenue Management function for Nestlé Purina, leading key meetings and setting promotional strategy.
•    Lead the Integrated Commercial Planning process, working with cross-functional teams to align timelines and meetings to achieve long-term ambition.
•    Support effective working relationships with key customers, engaging them through category thought leadership and compelling category/shopper led activations.
 

WHAT WILL MAKE YOU SUCCESSFUL
•    Degree qualified with a minimum of 8 plus years of FMCG Category and Sales experience.
•    Previous experience in leading Category Strategy development with retailers.
•    Strong analytical skills and knowledge of consumer, category and customer insights.
•    Excellent negotiation, communication and presentation skills.
•    Advanced PC skills, including Power BI, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
•    Ability to work independently and effectively, comfortable in dealing with complexity.
•    Strong leadership skills and the ability to enrol senior leaders.
