Fantastic Opportunity currently exists for Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Advisor to join our corporate office in Parnell, Auckland. This role will inspire and advise excellence in safety, health and environmental sustainability across head office and commercial roles, including field-based employees nationally.
A day in the life…
Reporting to the Head of Safety, key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Partner with leaders to create a compelling understanding/awareness of the Nestlé SHE values and inspire engagement in a strong safety culture.
- Identify local SHE priorities, current & future challenges and opportunities for change for 'Beyond Operations' in New Zealand.
In partnership with the AU SHE Manager, co-develop a holistic strategy and implementation plan, aligned with Oceania priorities & objectives. - Support ongoing management of application of the Nestlé Integrated Management System (NIMS) and other Group SHE Standards. Ensure adherence to all company principles & policies.
- Build competency through effective training and coaching of managers and employees to help them take ownership and accountability, informed by training needs assessment.
- Support head office in the development of environmental strategies to minimise waste to landfill.
- Co-ordinate internal & external resources to ensure delivery of high quality and efficient SHE support, e.g. medical assessments, health promotion and surveillance, training.
- Provide effective management of accident compensation cases for office and field-based employees.
- Engage with relevant external stakeholders (e.g. local regulators, local NGOs) on SHE topics to build strategic, long-term relationships.
- Participate in relevant external forums, aligned with SHE strategy, to benchmark with other companies, and share best practices.
What will make you successful
You will have a strong demonstrated experience in Safety, Health & Environment areas and will have:
- Tertiary qualification in safety, health and/or environmental areas or related field.
- Take ownership of SHE and driven change through personal leadership.
- Analyse complex problems to identify multiple root causes.
- Influence behavioural change in a team/department.
- Translated policies & standards into practical action plans.
- Experience coaching individuals and teams in different environments.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver results through others
- Strong understanding of SHE legislation and regulations.
- Communicate effectively with different organisational levels.
- Taken proactive approach to anticipate issues or improve current practices.
- Demonstrated passion for people, consumers, products and community and displays a caring attitude.
- Demonstrated commitment to keeping people safe and to protecting the environment.
- The right person must be proactive, thorough, and detailed, with a high level of relationship building.
