GRADE I
Position Snapshot:
- Location Portogruaro Factory (VE) Nestlè Purina, Italy
- Department: Factory Engineering
- Permanent contract, full time job
- Bachelor’s or master degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or related field).
- At least 3 – 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial engineering environment, preferably in Food/Pharma/FMCG industries as Project or Maintenance Engineer
- Fluent in Italian and English (spoken and written).
Position Summary:
In this role you will support and lead engineering projects within the factory, ensuring timely delivery, cost efficiency, and compliance with safety and quality standards. You will also collaborate cross-functionally to implement technical solutions that improve manufacturing processes and support strategic initiatives.
A Day in the life of a Factory Project Engineer
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, resources, and budgets. Monitor progress and adjust plans as needed to ensure successful delivery.
- Collaborate with design, production, and maintenance teams to ensure technical feasibility and alignment with factory capabilities.
- Collaborate also with central functions based in France.
- Liaise with external international suppliers and contractors for equipment, services, and installations. Manage contracts, timelines, and quality of deliverables.
- Ensure all projects comply with local regulations, environmental standards, and internal safety policies. Participate in risk assessments and safety audits.
- Support technical training and help operators and maintenance teams during project handover and implementation in collaboration with OSL (Operational Start-up Leader)
- Contribute to projects that support sustainability goals, such as energy efficiency, waste reduction, and circular economy practices in line with Nestlé MM0 targets (i.e. carbon neutral manufacturing operations by 2050)

What will make you successful
- Bachelor’s or master degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or related field)
- At least 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial engineering environment, preferably in Food/Pharma/FMCG industries as Project or Maintenance Engineer
- PMI certification is a plus
- Fluent in Italian and English (spoken and written)
- Excellent project management skills
- Clear and effective communication with stakeholders at all levels
- Comfortable at working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Smart approach and good initiative will complete the profile
