Position Summary

 

We are seeking a digitally driven Commercial Analyst who thrives in a fast‑paced environment. You will transform complex data into clear insights and recommendations that support commercial, operational, and senior leadership teams.

This role places strong emphasis on digital enablement—automation, dashboarding, advanced analytics, and smarter ways of working. You will help shape business performance by combining analytical rigour with modern digital tools to unlock faster, more accurate insights.

 

A day in the life

 

  • Analyse sales, volume, mix, margin and cost performance, providing clear commentary on key drivers
  • Support variance analysis vs plan, forecast and prior periods, highlighting risks and opportunities
  • Prepare concise performance summaries, reporting packs and insights for commercial and operational teams
  • Extract, clean and prepare data from ERP, syndicated and scan sources; ensure accuracy and consistency
  • Automate recurring reports, dashboards and data checks using Excel, Power Query, SQL or Power BI
  • Contribute to budgeting and rolling forecast cycles, reconciling forecasts to actuals and explaining variances
  • Support scenario modelling, sensitivity analysis and other forward‑looking decision‑support activities
  • Maintain strong data governance by validating data, flagging anomalies early and documenting assumptions, sources and KPIs

 

 

What makes you successful

 

  • Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Engineering, Analytics or related
  • Strong analytical capability with the ability to interpret data and generate insights
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel; exposure to Power Query, Power Pivot and Power BI
  • High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
  • Experience with automation, scripting (eg Python) or data modelling/visualisation (desirable)
  • Curious, digitally minded, collaborative and reliable, with strong communication skills
  • Delivers automated, insight‑rich dashboards that improve visibility of pricing, promotion and mix drivers, enabling faster, higher‑quality commercial decisions and building credibility as a trusted commercial partner.
