Based at our Rhodes Head Office we have an exciting opportunity for a Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) Manager to support our Field Sales Team and Corporate site (Rhodes). As a dynamic and dedicated Health and Safety professional, you will be required to develop and drive site or business division initiatives leading to continuous improvement in line with the Nestlé Continuous Excellence mind-set of zero accidents and incidents.

 

A day in the life...

 

Reporting to the Head of Safety - Oceania, you will be part of a collaborative team passionate about ensuring a strong safety culture across the organisation.

 

Key Responsibilities are:

 

  • Create a compelling understanding of the Nestlé SHE values and inspire stakeholders to excel in compliance & continuously improve
  • Identify SHE priorities, current & future challenges, and opportunities for change at site level
  • Guide implementation of the Safety, Health and Environmental Management System and other Group SHE Standards
  • Develop and continuously improve site SHE programmes to deliver compliance and performance improvement
  • Ensure the local health & safety management system is certified to ISO45001 and to ISO14001
  • Provide training and coaching to managers and team leaders to help them take ownership, lead and manage SHE within their area of responsibility. Provide personal coaching and support to site Management Team
  • Ensure compliance is regularly audited and performance assessed, and the results used to drive further improvement
  • Support consultative forums across Field Sales and Corporate teams
  • Engage with external stakeholders to support best practice solutions
  • Injury management of Field Sales and Corporate team members

An overwhelming commitment to everyone going home safe everyday drives your passion for safety. You will have a strong demonstrated experience in Health and Safety management, policy and regulatory implementation. A strong negotiator, you strive to strengthen the sites safety culture and fostering preventative and proactive safety performance. You will have a real drive for SHE and continuous improvement. Experience taking ownership of SHE and supporting change through personal leadership

 

In addition to the above, the successful candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualification or equivalent in Work Health & Safety 
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in similar role
  • Experience in FMCG/Manufacturing or site-based environment or Allied Health will be favourably considered
  • Detailed knowledge of the requirements of ISO 14001& ISO45001
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills and ability to communicate effectively with different organisational levels
  • Influenced behavioural change in a team/department
  • Analysed complex problems to identify the causal factors
  • Worked in cross-functional teams
  • Translated policies & standards into practical action plans
  • Coached individuals and teams in different environments
  • Proactive approach to anticipate issues or improve current practices
  • Experience with workers compensation and return to work programs
