POSITION SUMMARY
The incumbent ensures that Nestlé Regulatory & Scientific Affairs compliance is consistently implemented in the local operating company. He/she assures with all relevant functions, the delivery of safe, compliant and attractive products as a key contribution to maintain consumer trust in our brands and services. He/She proactively engages with authorities and associations.
A DAY IN THE LIFE …
- In coordination with RSA Head Office, the incumbent pro-actively engages with the Business Units and Globally Managed Businesses, updating the business on current changes to local regulations in terms of label declaration, ingredients approval, colorant, food additives and shelf life, etc. as well as obtaining future plans on any new developed product in order to check the compliance with local regulations.
- Oversees and manages the end-to-end registration process for any Nestlé product when needed inclusive of follow-up with suppliers and delivery of necessary documentation in this regard ensuring registration of the product with the concerned lcoal ministry.
- Engage with local authorities with the objective of defending Nestlé's position for new products / concept, label declarations, taking the initiative to develop clear positions / policies wherever necessary
- Proactively engage and build relations with local Authorities with the objective of influencing activities with national authorities and CODEX.
- Participate in crisis prevention and management with the local authorities in order to support on-time product clearance.
- Ensure communication flow with functional head (Head of RSA)
- Understands country specific regulatory trends. Maintains & keeps up-to-date, a repository of the country specific regulations, with early escalation of new regulations within Nestle, in order to ensure compliance to the same.
- Particpate in annual workshops and conferences e.g. Food Safety Workshops, with the aim of strengthening Nestle's position in the country.
What will make you successful…
- Minimum 5 years experience in a regulatory team or in close contact with regulatory environment ( food association, industry or governmental authorities).
- Applied knowledge in at least one of the regulatory related topics such as , food safety, consumer information, nutrition & health, additive, public affairs or quality.
- Demonstrated leading & influencing skills in a previous job.
- Knowledge and experience in nutrition, science, raw material and finished products applied to regulatory environment.
- University Degree in science or law. Master degree or PhD is a plus.
- Know and understand local food chain association.
- Competent in English as the working language for Nestle inter-market communication.
- Fluent in Arabic as the communicating language with local authorities.
- Know and understand Nestle products, local organization, NiM, NCE and Nestle at global level.
- Broad general regulatory knowledge in different fields and in-depth knowledge in his specific field of expertise.
