JOB SUMMARY AND MISSION

The Sr. Category Analyst (Advisor) assists the Category Manager in developing and executing the modular relay process. A key responsibility is to collaborate with the Category Manager and the customer to create Strategic Category plans by leveraging analytics, insights, and technology to identify actionable customer-specific insights to drive the Category and Relay Strategy. Working cross functionally with our corporate based team to drive results is a key success factor. SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Create, analyze and provide insights for customer weekly POS performance, modular pre vs post-performance, Test and Learn insights, and other similar customer data derived insights, as well as being knowledgeable on the category’s business intelligence reporting portfolio for ad hoc requests. 
  • Leverage insights from a variety of data platforms to cultivate actionable insights and identify opportunity gaps. 
  • Assist in overseeing store trait management, item attribution, and the collection and updating of images and dimensions. 
  • Partner with the category manager to ensure the success of Modular Relays from strategy inception to modular submission. 
  • Provide support in analytics, insights, merchandising, assortment optimization, and cluster recommendations. 
  • Assist with testing and validating modular drawings during the relay process for generation, submission and post-modular and relay analytics. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred  
  • 2+ years previous experience with a category advisor team, business analytics or technical / analytical role 
  • Strong technical skills are required, with expertise in analytics, as well as previous experience with Walmart and/or Sam’s customer data and syndicated data.
