We are looking for an Industrial Services Manager. This role will be responsible for the generation and distribution of utilities like steam, refrigeration, electricity and compressed air. The role will also entail sourcing, treatment and distribution of water and the treatment of trade waste.

 

A day in the life of...

 

A . Quality (Q)

• Ensures that the General Service QMS and HACCP are flawlessly executed, trouble-shoots and resolve quality deviations in supply of utilities and maintenance of equipment. Maintains a high standard of hygiene and practices GMP at all times. In case of a major quality deviation in supply of utilities, is able to effectively take prompt corrective actions to minimize impact.

• Ensures regulatory conformance for treated waste water discharge & boiler stack emission is always adhered to. In case of a deviation, is able to effectively take prompt corrective actions to minimize adverse impact to the environment.

 

 

B . Supply or Speed Management (S)

• Routine & Preventive Maintenance

Manages all routine maintenance, by setting up priorities to ensure the implementation of AMM schedule (PM 03). Is also responsible for the preparation of the general services annual M&R budget.

 

 

C . Cost Management (C)

• Following prescribed guidelines, controls materials, labour, General Factory Overhead (GFOH) and M & R usage variances.

 

 

D. People (P)

• Coaches, trains, and motivates the MDT1 teams in the achievement of Q, S, C, P targets.

• Maintains good work discipline with technicians and operators. Formally appraises the performance of technicians and operators at least on an annual basis.

• Develops staff and conducts training, including identification of training needs.

• Maintains industrial harmony and ensures compliance to all Labour Laws

• Implements SHE SOP’s, and participates in identifying and resolving potential safety environmental hazards for SHE.

• Represents MDT1 teams at the MDT2 level. Tables ideas for Continuous Improvement (C.I.) from MDT1 teams at MDT2/3 level.

• Participates in the implementation of C.I. projects, under the guidance of the Engineering Manager.

 

 

 

What will make you successful

​​​​​​

 

  • Degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Thermal or Marine Engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a technical utilities field, preferably heat or power generation.
  • Strong technical, communication and leadership skills.
  • Analytical skills in problem solving
  • Ability to translate engineering knowledge into a full compliant operation (including food safety, safety and environment compliance)
  • Ability to communicate with different areas within the factory (Production, Quality, Finance, etc)
