Position Summary

To support  the development and introduction of new products and processes whilst continually reviewing existing practices to ensure compliance with Nestle standards and seek improvements in manufacturing performance, product quality, cost and  renovation of existing products Provide strong technical guidance to team members and support projects to deliver innovative and competitive products/processes/systems in his/her field of activity in response to business and consumer needs (Cost, production efficiency). Mentor/ lead to Local Leadership Team (LLT) & shopfloors 

 

A day in the life of a Manufacturing Technologist

New Product Development & Introduction:  
- To develop technical and manufacturing solutions for new product opportunities through liaison with the category team, SBU,PTC, application groups ,nestle factories and third parties (eg. co-manufacturing sites) - To support factory's new product/ processes commisioning & validation/ verification activities, in order to ensure full  compliance (health , food safety and regulatory) with all Legal and Nestle standards for both internal and third party products manufactured
- Organise and document factory trials/ validation/ verification including machinability, shelf-life, storage handling, laboratory tests for approval of new process/ product and changes in specifications.

 

Product and Process Mastership:
- To achieve and maintain required technical standards in processes for all the products in portfolio (eg. CIP, Thermal Processing, UHT & Aseptic) - To provide technical support to manufacturing on troubleshooting and improvement initiatives
- To improve existing processes, especially for the establishment of temporary and final labour standards for existing and new products
- Responsible to support manufacturing strategy development (when applicable)

 

People & Know How:
- Ensure development of competencies of Local Leadership Team (LLT) members/ AG technologists/ Production shopfloors & disseminate product/process best practices & knowledge among the Team  - Responsible to source & utilise training materials available within the Group (or develop training materials as appropriate) to develop competency of team
- Lead a Line Leadership Team to deliver performance according to Business requirements

 

Consumer Complaints: 
Analyze consumer complaints related to product/ recipe, propose & implement corrective actions.

 

What will make you successful

Academic Experience:
Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Food Engineering, Chemical/ Mechanical Engineering, and relevant Science fields

 

Operational Experience: 
Min. 3 years experience in operating/factory or R&D experience

 

Business Experience:
Project management capabilities, with capability to manage project portfolio in several areas competing for resources. Proven track record in delivering results by working with cross-functional teams.
