Position Title: Material Planner
Position Type: Full-Time
Minimum Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma in Engineering, Social sciences and other related courses.
Minimum Relevant Work Experience: Minimum of 2 or more years of hands-on experience in at least one of the following Supply Chain function: Demand and Supply Planning, Detailed Production Scheduling, Distribution Requirement Planning, Raw & Packaging Material Requirement Planning.

Nestlé Nigeria is currently looking for a Material Planner whose responsibility would be to ensure availability of materials to fulfill the requirements of the production plans within the agreed cost boundaries and expected stock cover.
A day in the life of a Material Planner:
- Monitoring supply signals using material planning purchase requisitions; ensuring accuracy and adherence to delivery dates, lead time and required quantities, creating purchase orders and ensuring their fulfillment by the supplier(s).
- Directly managing the delivery of materials, alongside the defined supplier(s), including investigation of errors and discrepancies on invoice lines and handling all exceptions in those operations (e.g., claims management).
- Ensuring call-offs are within stock cover policy for each SKU within their portfolio.
- Managing sourcing changes effectively and minimizing write-offs.
- Ensuring excellent supplier relationships and involving them in Supply Chain improvement exercises to create shared value for all parties involved.
- Monitoring supplier performance and sharing issues or poor supplier performance with suppliers and the procurement team (on time, in the right quantity, as well as quality).
- Collaborating with peer planners to share best practices, making use of problem-solving tools to drive continuous improvement.
- Monitoring timely receipt and processing of vendor invoices.
- Follow-up with vendors and escalation of operational issues foreseen to impact production.
- Performing daily, weekly, and monthly reporting (Parked invoices, Open POs, GRIR and VES, etc.)
- Timely resolution of blocked and parked invoices, re-scheduling of past orders and payment resolution.
What Will Make You Successful?
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma in Engineering, Social sciences and other related courses.
- Minimum of 2 or more years of hands-on experience in at least one of the following Supply Chain function: Demand and Supply Planning, Detailed Production Scheduling, Distribution Requirement Planning, Raw & Packaging Material Requirement Planning.
- Experience in the following processes would be highly beneficial: Product Lifecycle Process and/or Factory Master Data Management
- Excellent proficiency level in the use of Microsoft Office tools (particularly Microsoft Excel). Working knowledge of Power BI and SAP is an added advantage.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical skills, eye for detail, multi-tasking ability, time management and service orientation.
