Position Summary:
As the Reliability Engineer you are responsible to identify the proactive maintenance requirements for assets to increase plant productivity, maximize reliability performance in a sustainable way and to capture all opportunities to improve processes while reducing total cost. This will be achieved through actions to review and update the site criticality assessment, implement/review the Equipment Reliability Strategy (ERS) program to ensure appropriate deployment, evaluate proactive work results, follow up with appropriate action to restore asset integrity and carry out investigations into failures to eliminate their root causes. All opportunities to improve asset integrity will be captured while complying with EHS and GMP requirements and in alignment with Reliability Excellence practices/processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides technical guidance, support, and expertise in their area,
- Assisting and coaching Maintenance and Operations team members across all shifts to ensure competency and capability development under the guidance of the Nestle Management and Leadership Principles.
- Drive the elimination of unplanned stoppages linked to a technical cause while optimizing the total cost of operation through detailed loss analysis in their area.
- Drive the optimization of planned stoppages.
- Develop, lead, support, evaluate, and improve functional competencies and training to ensure that maintenance staff including mechanics are properly equipped to eliminate technical unplanned stoppages.
- Builds and drives a culture, program based on Predictive & Preventive maintenance supported by strong Planning and scheduling methodology.
Daily Review/Coach:
- Reviews stoppages and loss data (e.g. SAM (Stoppage Analysis Module) and AMM (Asset Maintenance Management)) for trends and priorities.
- Coach, lead, participate, and guide as needed around daily activities and improvement initiatives / projects including GSTD, BDA, DMAIC, capex, etc.
- Review compliance with preventative and predictive maintenance. Work with mechanics, vendors, and planners to optimize PM’s.
- Provide inputs for development of annual budgets for maintenance and engineering and ensure compliance with it.
- Proactive development of own technical expertise related to technologies and assets in the area as well as TPM tools and methodologies to support improvement.
Inter-Departmental Communication:
- Participate as a core member of TPM-PM Pillar and Nestle Center of Excellence (NCE) Teams, owning Systems and Tools
- Drive engagement and competence of technical personnel in operations meetings through coaching and support (Shift Hand Over, Shift Operation Review) to develop effective meetings.
- Collaborate with other Nestle plants to learn & standardize/streamline processes & systems.
Experience & Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required, in Engineering or related field
- 3-5 years of proven reliability or process engineering in a manufacturing environment.
- Food experience, TPM, preventive maintenance planning and maintenance execution.
- Basic exposure in the coordination and planning of maintenance activities, considered SHE, food safety and other constrains.
- Strong analytical skills
- Demonstrate ability to lead others, strong organization, and positive conflict management skills.
- Problem-solving skill including root cause analysis and other tools.
- Detailed oriented with ability to record accurate information and above average communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment where honest communication, positive attitude, engagement, personal accountability, and fluent in coaching others is expected.
- Must demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset and fluent in coaching others.
- Ability to prioritize the tasks and projects.
