Position: Packaging Specialist (Temporary – 6 months)

Main Objectives of the role…

As the packaging specialist the main purpose of this job is to develop new packaging / Re-pack solutions on time, in good quality and cost efficiently.

Manage flawless execution of Packaging and Re-pack related projects and initiatives of subcontracted products.

Orchestrates a cross-functional and multidisciplinary team to achieve the project/initiative objectives in line with corporate packaging policies (Quality, Safety and Compliance).

• Lead Packaging projects with focus on cost efficiency, on time delivery and product quality
• Apply project management tools and skills to ensure the on-scope, on-time and on-quality launch and flawless execution of packaging projects from requirement to product availability.                                                       
• Evaluate best packaging alternatives for new products and improvements to existing products and support the Marketing Team with the representation and execution of the packaging samples and branding exercises for projects in development.                                         
• Consumer/Customer Complains.- Participate and support the research of the packaging related consumers complaints.                                           
• Organize and document trials (Specially focusted on Dimensioning, but could Include storage handling and transport when required. Support Quality monitoring plan and participate in the audits of Packaging                                                      
• Sustainability. Execute projects to reduce materials and solutions with low environmental impact.                                             
• Develop suppliers.- Sustain the Technical relationship with relevant suppliers. Support  Procurement for in Packaging negotiations.                                            
• Materials & Specifications.- Request and monitor the creation of codes of SAP materials. Identify and create specifications for packaging materials.                                            
• Packaging Artwork approvals.- Act as an advisor for packaging materials, printing processes, colors, and all technical specifications and lead the process to ensure that all delivered artworks comply with the Nestle Quality Standards in a timely manner.                                                     
• Apply project management tools and skills to ensure the on-scope, on-time and on-quality launch and flawless execution of packaging projects from requirement to product availability.                                                       
• Local Market champion of any packaging project development system, or software.
• Strict adherence to Nestlé Corporate policy, WHO Code, Nestlé Instructions, and local legislation in the market where apply (DO ley 8-95).                                           

What makes you successful…

• Mechanical Engineer and/or Industrial Engineer.
• Preferable 3 or more years in a food manufacturing facility or in a Packaging supplier facility.
• Preferable at least 3 years of experience in Packaging processes and materials as Flexibles, Rigid plastics, Solid board, Corrugates, inks, etc.
• Has successfully shown leadership skills within a cross-functional team.
• Has worked in a matrix-like structure.
• Has demonstrated courage and ability to solve problems.
• Has proven communication skills.
