Function Summary:
Supervise maintenance personnel for assigned facility including coordination of work assignments within the departments related to repair work and preventative maintenance, calibration, and coordination of vendor visits. Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, oversee production, packaging machinery and building maintenance; keep facilities in compliance with all applicable regulations, and maintain detailed records on all functions of maintenance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee maintenance employees – prioritization of maintenance responsibilities.
- Assist in managing the maintenance spare parts inventories to ensure that we have appropriate type and quantity of spares to take care of PM work orders or breakdown repairs with minimal downtime.
- Ensure the integrity of the information in Maintenance Management Software (SAP/Prometheus) as related to part name, SAP P/N, vendor P/N, inventory level, min/max triggers, cost, etc.
- Responsible for GDP as related to work order information.
- Responsible for the hand-off of ongoing critical breakdown repairs from one shift to the next to keep repair work moving.
- Initial responder to alarm system as relates to production room or cold storage temperature and %RH control.
- Initial responder to building alarm system as relates to building security or fire systems.
- Communicate alarm status and corrective actions to relevant team members.
- Assist planner to initiate, schedule resources, and manage general work orders to ensure work is completed in a timely manner and SAP is updated.
- Assist planner in scheduling resources and manage PM work orders to ensure work is completed in a timely manner and SAP is updated.
- Initiate safety talks with Maintenance Team and work with EHS on safety related issues.
- Strictly enforce all company safety and cGMP standards such as but not limited to LOTO and permits to work.
- Manage Tool Room tooling inventories to ensure the Production Team has appropriate type and quantity of tooling spares for replacements and change overs of machines.
- Schedule resources for appropriate shift coverage and any maintenance overtime needs.
- Communicate major breakdown repair status with Scheduler and Production Team through defined escalation process.
- Assist maintenance planner in communicating with operations Scheduler and Production Team to reserve equipment time required for PM work.
- Additional duties as required or assigned.
- Maintain 5S standard for all maintenance area on your shift.
- Promote and develop a strong teamwork environment.
- Ensure compliance of team on all company required trainings.
- Actively seek and support continuous improvement activities in process efficiencies, costs, effectiveness of work and sustainability improvements
- Assist in the creation and rollout of department related SOPs, MOCs and GSTDs.
- Serve on a project team as an SME for various company projects.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical/mechanical engineering or work experience equivalent with a minimum of 6 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in the food or beverage industry (aseptic experience a plus).
- Minimum 2-3 years in a supervisory capacity managing a maintenance team. Preventive maintenance program implementation.
- Knowledge of equipment motors and controls
- Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, procedures, repair manuals, electrical circuit drawings and follow specific step by step instructions.
- Able to work entire shift while standing/crouching/bending/lifting/pushing/pulling.
- Good written and verbal communication skills required. Knowledge and able to use computers and Microsoft Office products.
- Knowledge of CMMS software (SAP highly preferred).
- Problem solving – Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner
- Works Independently – requires little to no supervision in performing assigned calibration assignments.
