Position Summary: 
This is a multi-faceted position providing process engineering support to the factory in the main areas of capital project execution and process line support.  Responsible for project management, production line trouble shooting, administering budgeting, design, installation, qualification, and commissioning of new/modified process systems. Assist Production and Quality Departments to resolve non-maintenance related production and quality issues. Conduct training, maintain and update documentation relating to job. Assist in training and mentoring of new engineering staff.      
 
Key Responsibilities:
Continuous Improvement:
• Follow up investigation using root cause analysis tools such as GSTD and/or DMAIC on process related issues
• Provide resolution of process line quality deviations thru formal requests such as ODIR, process deviations, and NCR’s
• Investigation feasibility and scope analysis to determine potential operational improvements
 
Process Engineering / Project Management:
• Independently develop and design process systems for manufacturing of food products including liquid and powder
• Conduct budget estimation, planning, and execution of projects. 
• Develop and implement project descriptions, plans, timelines, resources requirements, costs and other associated project details. 
• Mentor young process and project engineer during project development and execution.
• Prepare factory master plan and CAPEX submittal documents Inter-departmental Communication:
• Participate and contribute to cross functional improvement teams.
• Train maintenance and production employees on documentation and equipment operation for newly installed projects and/or new employees that are placed in critical areas.
• Direct and advise various groups (production, engineering, maintenance, etc.) on the implementation and use of the process control and data acquisition software and hardware. 
 
Change Control:
• Ensure that guidelines and procedures are followed for process changes, including written management approval, clear change definition
• Test and validate new designs to produce finish product
• Update process descriptions, P&ID’s, and other documentation when change is implemented
 
Safety and Environmental:
• Follow factory safety & environmental objectives & targets 
• Follow the plant safety rules, report incidents & unsafe conditions immediately 
• Maintain compliance with regulations and refer to the Safety & Environmental Management System(s) on all related procedures and programs. 
• Understand the environmental aspects of the position and take action to reduce these environmental impacts by conserving paper, electricity, water etc. Will also recycle all appropriate materials (paper, plastic, food, etc.)
 
Quality:
• Follow factory food safety, quality objectives & targets 
• Follow Nestle Good Manufacturing Practices, report food safety and quality issues immediately.
• Maintain compliance with regulations and refer to Nestle Quality Management System on all related procedures and programs. 
• Understand the food safety and quality aspects of the position as indicated on QMS, OJT's and SOP's that apply.  
 
Experience and Education Requirements:
• BS Degree in Engineering – Chemical / mechanical preferred
• 5 + years of experience in process engineering & projects field
• Experience in a food, dairy, pharmaceutical, etc. manufacturing plant environment (preferably in 24*7 Aseptic nutritional, dairy processing products workplace).   
• Above average project management skills preferably in handling large scale projects (> $1 Mio USD) & contractor management
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Project and Excel required; SAP, AutoCAD experience is preferred
• Understands principles of QMS, HACCP, and SOP's.
• Knowledge of chemistry (especially food chemistry) and the ability to relate it to current and new designs.
• Working experience with heat transfer and fluid mechanics as it relates to process design.
• Working knowledge of CIP, and dairy processing.  Aseptic experience is a plus.
