Job Summary:

 

Nestle Health Science (NHSc) US is looking for an experienced and dynamic Finance Leader to oversee all financial aspects of our recently acquired factory in Savannah, GA. 

 

The Sr Factory Controller will be responsible for being the steadfast custodian of stewardship and governance for the facility. Trusted co-pilot to the Factory Manager and Factory Leadership Team with direct dialogue with the Operations Controller for NHSc US. Accountable for all factory financial matters (vision, organization, practices, initiatives/projects) and provide fact-based decision making on both short-term objectives and on long term strategic initiatives. Provide visibility and forecasts around costs related to the factory processes through the driving of relevant analysis and reporting (monitoring of the budget and controlling the variances), ensures compliance to financial legal requirements and NAS. This position will support full-time in the factory location.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Identify, drive, and deliver cost improvement opportunities, be an active contributor for improvement projects and initiatives, and validate, review & track proposed savings
  • Challenges assumptions for cost improvements in the factory utilizing internal and external benchmark information 
  • Actively drives improvement activities within the factory and ensure activities are in alignment with business Operational Master Plan
  • Manages and interprets factory reporting of actuals and forecasts for the factory and key outside stakeholders; ensure transparency, accuracy and timeliness of this process
  • Follows up and monitoring of progress to close gaps, ensuring Nestle financial policies, accounting standards, and costing standards are followed by promoting ownership of data at source
  • Identifies and leads strategic financial analysis for major and strategic decisions to ensure full transparency of costs and non-financial implications
  • Drives business planning, manages the overall factory budget with factory management team as well as liaise between factory and Corporate/Commercial Teams in the business planning process
  • Performs forecasts, revisions, and simulations as needed
  • Develops, controls, and ensures robust evaluations of capital investment plans and requests including post Captial Expense (CAPEX) evaluations
  • Ensures clear control and visibility of assets and liabilities, including the development, implementation and compliance with internal controls in all areas
  • Accountable for Segregation of Duties (SODs) and assessment of compensating control effectiveness
  • Coaches and develops the factory personnel ensuring factory finance personnel are meeting/exceeding performance expectations
  • Drives clear understanding of financial key figures, costing and business impact within and outside the factory
  • Organization of  training sessions for non-specialists
  • Manages routine audit activities within the factory to ensure compliance on critical areas eg.. NAS, Costing Standards, statutory accounting/tax, & Cost/Operational Expenses (OPEX)
  • Serves as the champion of compliance & risk management and is key contact for internal and external audits within the factory
  • Maintain compliance with regulations and refer to the Safety & Environmental Management System(s) on all related procedures and programs
  • Leads the intitiative to reduce of environmental impacts by conserving paper, electricity, water,  etc.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or commensurate field of study
  • 5 (five) plus years in cost or general accounting
  • Experience in a factory or operational setting, strongly preferred

 

Skills:

 

  • Knowledge of activity-based costing/management and factory management systems/tools
  • Knowledge of accounting principles
  • Basic understanding of information systems function
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Ability to manage a multi-faceted department
  • Ability to work well with all employees
  • Must be a team player, have strong project leadership skills as well as be self-directed
