Position Summary:
The Industrial Services Technician is responsible for the safe operation, monitoring, and maintenance of utility systems including boilers, steam, condensate, water treatment, and associated equipment. The technician will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot basic issues, and maintain accurate documentation to ensure reliable plant operations.
Shifts: 1st, 2nd, 3rd available
Primary Responsibilities:
- Set up, start up, operate, adjust, shut down, and purge boiler and steam systems.
- Monitor, test, and record readings for all assigned systems (for example, high-pressure steam boilers, pumps, natural gas systems, chemical treatment systems, water purification and condensate systems, etc.)
- Perform preventive maintenance and cleaning of boiler systems and associated equipment.
- Respond to alarms and malfunctions calmly and take corrective action promptly.
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation of system checks, readings, and maintenance activities.
- Assist with basic troubleshooting and repairs; guide others on effects of complex repairs.
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
Education, experience, skills:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 2+ years of experience in operation, repair, and maintenance of boilers, refrigeration, HVAC, and utility systems.
- Experience with ammonia refrigeration and electrical controls preferred.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Basic troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to read and follow technical instructions and safety guidelines.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
- Commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of steam and water systems preferred.
- Basic understanding of boiler operations and safety procedures.
- Must have basic proficiency of English language to comply with verbal and written directions, signs, policies and procedures.
Safety & Environmental Compliance
- Follow all company, plant, and regulatory safety and environmental compliance, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Safety, Health & Environment (SHE), and International Standardization Organization (ISO).
- Must inspect and wear PPE as required.
- Adhere to Energy Isolation Procedure (LOTO - Lock out Tag Out) procedures and never place body parts in moving machinery.
- Report unsafe conditions, spills, and incidents immediately.
- Dispose of waste properly, recycle when possible, and follow HAZCOM procedures.
- Understand and apply allergen control, sanitation, thermal processing, metal detection, and foreign material prevention guidelines.
- Complete required safety training and perform risk assessments.
Quality & Food Safety
- Comply with quality procedures, Nestlé standards, and regulatory requirements, such as Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).
- Maintain confidentiality of recipes and report any deviations.
- Support quality assurance by promptly reporting concerns and following established protocols.
Continuous Improvement
- Participate in Nestlé Continuous Excellence (NCE), Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Lean, and Standard Work initiatives.
- Contribute ideas for process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Engage in required training to develop technical and operational skills.
Professional Conduct & Teamwork
- Maintain a professional attitude and communicate effectively across teams.
- Support cross-functional collaboration and participate in team meetings.
- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in documentation.
- Demonstrate reliability, attention to detail, and a proactive approach.
Operational Responsibilities
- Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret written materials.
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Work scheduled shifts with flexibility for overtime, weekends, and off-shift coverage.
- Complete all required documentation accurately and on time.
- Use chemicals only as directed and seek assistance when needed.
- Participate in safety, quality, and housekeeping initiatives, including 5S standards.
Pay: $38.00 - $40.00 per hour

The pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at top of range.
