Position Summary:
The Maintenance Team Lead 1 is responsible for all equipment performance in their assigned areas as well as to assist the mechanics to optimize production equipment performance.
Shifts: 2nd and 3rd available
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Monitors daily activities of Maintenance employees.
- Assists in the training of Maintenance employees on equipment and CMM systems.
- Ensures completion of Work Orders that are assigned to them or their department,
- Ensures calls for maintenance are answered in a timely fashion and performs repairs/adjustments as required.
- Operates related equipment as needed and assigns or performs upgrades or changes to equipment if needed.
- Monitors equipment performance during production start-up, changeovers, and new installs.
- Provides feedback and recommendations to the Supervisor on equipment performance, production start-ups, employee performance and noncompliance issues.
- Performs daily checklists as required and completes any necessary work logs.
- Observes equipment to make sure it is operating to OEM standard or production satisfaction and is operational for production.
- Requests parts, maintains, and assists in organizing equipment spare parts storage.
- Fabricates parts as needed or required
- Provides coverage and or assistance as needed throughout facility to meet production schedules and or equipment needs
- Ensures proper communication on pre-ops and changeovers between shifts.
- Confers with other Leads to coordinate activities of individual departments.
- Performs all Maintenance functions within each department.
- Maintains and monitors cleanliness of employees’ working area.
- Plans daily and weekly crewing levels.
- Monitors employee’s adherence to company rules and policies and recommends necessary corrective action to the Supervisor if needed
- Suggests ways to control labor and supply costs as well as improve processes.
- Ensures that all work activities are performed with attention to the highest standards for quality, safety and compliance with all appropriate legal and food safety requirements and a focus on continuous improvement.
- Ensures that all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) are followed.
- Follows all company policies & procedures as well as the GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices).
- Maintains a high level of safety awareness for an accident-free work place.
- Reports any unsafe or hazardous work conditions or safety-related issues to Management.
- Accomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested.
Education, Skills and experience:
Education
- High school diploma, GED or trade school equivalent.
- Two years Trade School in electrical or electronics field.
Skills:
- Ability to work overtime, irregular hours or rotating shifts.
- Three years related experience and/or training in the following areas; Electricity, electronics, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, machining, and plumbing
- Familiarity with electric controls such as frequency drives, PLC’s etc.
- Previous food manufacturing experience is helpful.
- Ability to speak, write and understand English.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, formulas, and policy and procedures manuals.
- Ability to write standard information into related paperwork.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Experience with Microsoft applications.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with a variety of diverse individuals within the plant and corporate environments.
- Ability to effectively present information to management.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is helpful.
- Ability to thrive in a constantly changing environment.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a plant production environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job in the plant, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to airborne particles. Employee may be exposed to extreme hot or cold temperatures that range from below zero (0) degrees Fahrenheit to over ninety (90) degrees Fahrenheit. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. While in the plant, the employee is required to utilize the required personal protective equipment.
Organizational Structure:
The Maintenance Team Lead 1 will report directly to the Supervisor Maintenance.
Pay: $42.00 - $48.00 per hour

The pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at top of range.
