As the Senior Specialist – Factory Hygienist, you are the champion of food safety and hygiene at the factory. You lead efforts to align hygiene practices with business goals while ensuring compliance with Nestlé principles, regulatory standards, and industry best practices. Your focus includes cleaning and disinfection, pest management, microbiology, allergen and foreign body control, and hygienic design. You provide technical support across manufacturing processes and drive continuous improvement in hygiene and food safety programs. You ensure that cleaning protocols are implemented, validated, and verified to maintain a sanitary production environment. You analyze data trends to identify and resolve hygiene-related issues, supporting operational efficiency. As the main contact for third-party sanitation and pest control providers, you ensure accountability and adherence to service agreements.

 

Primary Responsibilities

 

Assure Food Safety and Compliance 

  • Ensure adherence to all Company principles and policies as well as local laws and regulations. Ensure compliance to food safety, hygiene and regulatory requirements (national and international);
  • Responsible to ensure hygiene related elements of the factory food safety management systems are implemented and maintained
  • Ensure adherence to good hygienic practices at the factory
  • New project support and guidance, particularly adherance to hygeinic design principles
  • Support problem solving and solution development relating to non-conformances with regard to specific food safety areas.

Strive for Zero Defect & No Waste 

  • Support the quality failures analysis and initiatives to eliminate the defects related to food safety and hygiene performance;
  • Promote sharing of best practices across the organization;
  • Liaise with other functions to drive continuous improvement
  • Support water savings environmental projects through manual and CIP sanitation initiatives

Ensure Consistency 

  • Ensure mitigation of food safety and quality issues through interaction with AGs;
  • Ensure validation of hygiene related programs where appropriate to facilitate successful system design
  • Support the correct utilization of problem solving tools to drive root cause analysis, corrective actions and continuous improvement.

Ensure development of competencies in Quality and Food Safety 

  • Promote food safety awareness across the factory;
  • Develop food safety and quality training at factory floor level, as well as visitor and contractor; hygiene training;
  • Participate and actively engage to the Nestlé expert networks in hygiene and food safety;
  • Ensure development of people through coaching and training;
  • Convey corporate culture and management principles at all levels;
  • Foster a healthy employee relations climate.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & EDUCATION:

  • University graduate or equivalent (preferred microbiology, life science-related studies, engineering);
  • 3-5 years food manufacturing experience

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • Member of HACCP or Food Safety team; preferred
  • Member of CIP or specialized sanitation team; preferred
  • Participation in hygieic design evaluations; preferred
  • Demonstrated capability to influence stakeholders; preferred
  • Proven track record in delivering results by working with cross-functional teams and different initiatives;
  • Capable of developing and delivering training to both technical and non-technical personnel;
  • Coaching and problem solving;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

 

The approximate pay range for this position is $112,000.00 to $138,000.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
