This position contributes to NCP sales growth as a key contributor to the Shopper Innovation & Experience team. The team’s purpose is to elevate multi-channel shopping experience along the coffee path to purchase.  The overarching goal is to increase omni shopper transactions and loyalty by:

 

  • leading shopper experience strategy
  • developing / selling shopper solution platforms (including merchandising/marketing programming)
  • creating a differentiated way of selling key initiatives (The Virtual Lab)

 

This exciting, unique, newly created role will lead the ongoing development and future evolution of NCP’s Virtual Lab.  The Lab will serve as both an internal coffee leadership/learning tool and most importantly a new age way to sell key business initiatives.  In this manager role, the partner will work x-functionally with partners responsible for any Marketing content plus the eComm and Shopper Experience teams.  The manager will lead setup/prep for major customer top to top engagement using the lab as the communication vehicle.

   

Summary of Key Responsibilities


Leadership – plays a lead role in developing the new NCP Virtual Lab selling capability by charting the Lab development path and coordinating “construction” of all the selling modules in collaboration with  cross functional partners and outside vendors.

  • Lead creation of VLab long term vision/evolution to include content and retailer engagement
  • Collaborate with x-functional partners to drive the VLab vision via continuous enhancements
  • Work with SIE / Marketing / Catdev partners to define content needs and build out modules
  • Lead prep for priority retailer top to top engagements ensuring VLab increases selling effectiveness
  • Define VLab capability to elevate internal NCP Coffee Leadership.  Lead NCP partner immersion.
  • Lead by exhibiting the Nestle WOW’s:  Courage, Speed, Agility, Collaboration

Key Deliverables – Drive adoption; Ensure VLab long term viability/perception; Elevate VLab selling impact

  • Continuously refine the upfront story line incorporating insights, analytics, retailer specific findings
  • Work with CSS/Brand to integrate NCP content in the virtual reality In Home/At Retail sections
  • Add other modules:  Nespresso, Other AHC Experience platforms (e.g. Find Your Flavor)
  • Integrate the VLab into all priority retailer Top to Tops, JBPs and mid-winter FMI
  • Embed internal NCP learning modules to elevate partners Coffee Authority and selling proficiency
  • Add/Link other capabilities to the VLab (e.g. Aisle Assortment, Unify+ diagnostics, retailer websites)
  • Be an ambassador (internal/external) and ensure VLab is always a WOW factor for retailers/execs

Planning and Execution – Lead the architecture / construction / usage of the VLab over the long term 

  • Organize/lead VLab future view planning sessions to design “what’s next”
  • Lead execution/construction of VLab content by managing vendor partners (WD, 345, other)
  • Prep for T2Ts and FMI

 

Summary of Experience Years

  • 3- 5 years of Business Development experience for a CPG company
  • Overall 5+ years of relevant work experience across category management, shopper insights, shopper marketing, project management
  • Highly preferred: catdev, e-comm development, shopper marketing, marketing content development
  • Preferred: storytelling
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Thought leadership to craft the VLab vision and architecture
  • Ability to take big initiatives from idea to project plan to implementation
  • Problem solver with ability to identify solutions and influence x-functional partners to drive results
  • Ability to build diverse collaborative relationships
  • Shopper insight acumen used to creatively take retailers on a “shopper walk” to a coffee solution
  • Comfortable and effective at communicating/presenting to Sr. level audiences
