Main Purpose of the Job:
We are seeking a dedicated Safety and Environment (S&E) Specialist to support and advise our departmental management team on all aspects of safety and environmental compliance. In alignment with the Nestlé Continuous Excellence (NCE) philosophy, which aspires for zero accidents and incidents, the S&E Specialist will foster a proactive safety culture that empowers every employee to prioritize safety.
A Day in the Life of an S&E Specialist:
- Coordinate the implementation of the Factory's S&E strategy and programs, recommending S&E objectives that align with both Market and Corporate goals.
- Ensure compliance with all company principles, policies, and requirements related to S&E, including NCE, TPM, LEAN, NEMS, and NSMS. Jointly manage NIMS with Quality, and develop a local network with authorities and other factories to sustain S&E compliance. Lead the S&E Pillar and ensure adherence to Nestlé Environmental Requirements (NERs).
- Assist in achieving and maintaining ISO 14001, 45001 and OHSAS 18001 certification by developing and implementing specific tools and initiatives as part of the Factory's S&E program, while providing functional leadership for the TPM S&E pillar. Support management in sustainable development by ensuring compliance with wastewater discharge regulations and effective solid waste management.
- Provide coaching and training to Plant Managers, the Plant Management team, contractors, and visitors to meet the Factory's S&E objectives. Ensure accurate management of S&E performance data and promote S&E awareness.
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements regarding safety and environment, including mandatory technical inspections, equipment safety, and training needs analysis. Develop a comprehensive training plan.
- Lead the identification and assessment of S&E risks as the Risk Assessment Team leader, assisting in the establishment of contingency plans to mitigate foreseeable risks.
- Oversee S&E incident investigations, ensuring root causes are identified and follow-up actions are completed. Advise management on preventive and corrective measures.
- Submit monthly S&E KPIs and other relevant information to the S&E PM and Engineering/S&E Market officer, including S&E surveys, programs, statistics, and KPIs.
- Strictly abide by the WHO and Local Code in the execution of his/her job in its letter and spirit. Will be prohibited from making any direct contact with pregnant women and mothers of infants and young children in their business capacity.
Are You a Fit?
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical /Mechanical/ Environmental Engineering with 1-2 years of experience in Safety and Environment. Demonstrated capability to lead teams and influence behaviors in an industrial context.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with corporate teams, along with knowledge of national, state, and local legislation and industry codes.
- Proven track record of delivering results through effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
