Purpose Position

Manage the engineering activities relating to the factory such that employee health and safety, product safety and the protection of the environment are never compromised and that all engineering activities enhance product quality, plant performance and the business objectives.The Factory Engineer is a key member of the executive committee.


A day in life of...

  • People :  Develop and maintain Engineering competences at the factory (including techncial and management competencies, talent review, career and succession planning, etc)                                            
  • Fixed Asset Planning. Ensure optimum decisions are made/implemented regarding factory assets (including Investment cycle), in aligment with the Market Business Strategy. Manage accordingly the factory's Engineering data                                          
  • Project Management.  Monitor Capital Investments, ensuring justification, request, implementation, start-up, reporting aligned with Guidelines/TPM. Foster Projects' flexible design to allow adjustment to changing Operation requirements                        
  • M&I. Enable high performance Operations, by providing assets' Maintenance according to the Nestlé Strategy, using TPM/PM as the multi-disciplined approach to maintain/improve fixed assets, and AMM to manage their life cycle                  
  • Industrial Services. Ensure that the utilities' needs of Production are fulfilled and optimised. That all utilities that come/may come in contact with product are treated according to the food safety acceptance criteria
  • Compliance. Ensure the requirements related to NSAT, GATE, SHE, NHE & Local Regulations.                                                      
  • E&A /MES. Ensure that the electrical services, degree of automation and MES at factory site level, are in line with the Business requirements                           }
  • Energy/Water/SHE Management. Ensure optimum and sustainable Operations at factory level, by following the Energy/Water Management approach,  driving the corresponding Reporting System, and respecting SHE policies                           
  • Process & Packaging Optimisation. Drive I&R, initiating/coordinating implementation of new processes/technologies with relevant Market, PTC, Corporate and SBU Engineering                                            

 

What Will Make You Successful'

• Minimum 5-8 years in a technical field, preferably food manufacturing or consumer goods industry (as Project Engineer or Project Manager, Industrial Services, M&I or E&A/MES Engineer, or equivalent positions)

• Participation in a M&I and/or Factory Engineering College(s)

• Traning and certify as Leader of Planned Maintenance Pillar MP - TPM.

• Fixed Assets Maintenance responsibilities, including maintenance budget preparation and control (preferably including exposure to TPM, preventive maintenance planning and/or maintenance execution)

• Personnel Supervision (on technical teams, contractors or other 3rd parties)

• Preparation of Investment budgets >500kCHF, and acquisition of technical equipments (for Production and/or Industrial Services)

• Participation in the development of engineering projects >500kCHF, as part of a multidisciplinary team (preferably including different products and technologies, and both, the mechanical and E&A areas)

• Participation in the start-up of technical equipment(s) and/or production line(s) (preferably including industrial services supply)

• Participation in multi-disciplinary teams that focuses in process or packing optimisation/continuous improvement

• Self Management following defined KPIs/Objectives, and proactively tracking
