Position Summary

To support our Development Kitchen Team, we are currently looking for a Culinary specialist to start as soon as possible, with the potential to develop to a Concept & Development Chef in the short.

A day in the life of...

As a Concept & Development Chef at NPTC Food you will be part of a Team of international Development Chefs and the Nestlé global chef network with more than 60 members contributing to create exciting culinary products in various food projects for various markets globally.

 

Hence, there are several interesting activities waiting for you:

 

  • To develop Food/Culinary products which appeals to the local taste, texture and appearance for a defined market or region
  • Following and scouting new food trends using personal networks
  • Creating new concept ideas for future food products, leveraging the expertise of a cross functional team
  • Developing recipes for culinary products according to development requests: i.e. recipes, flavour and texture profile, costs, composition, ingredient statement (local legislation), safety, and packaging
  • Contributing to various creative sessions with the special culinary knowledge
  • Teaching cooking and cuisine understanding
  • Involvement in all culinary lunch, dinner and catering events by exceeding guest expectations, inspiring and creating product and food experiences
  • Translation of abstract themes into food and food experiences
  • Knowledge development in terms of raw material expertise and industrial development
  • Preparing of taste-testing, Test series and product benchmark sessions
  • Documentation of tests and tastings and participation in document preparations
What will make you successful
  • Knowledge of the food in general, the ingredients, ethnic cuisines, regional specialities
  • Apprenticeship as a cook or culinary degree
  • Experience in traditional restaurant/hotel business in different countries, preferably experience in international 5-star-hotel company as Chef de cuisine or above (Executive Sous Chef, Executive Chef)
  • Experienced in the high-end hospitality business, industrial knowledge is an advantage
  • Experience in vegetarian cooking is an advantage
  • Fluency in English mandatory (written and spoken)
  • Experienced in all relevant MS-Office tools 
  • Proactive, cross functional working style
