Position Summary

Being a Flavour Development Manager (m/f/d) in the world’s largest food manufacturer is a fantastic opportunity. It’s a role requiring you to apply your scientific expertise to help develop Food products that consumers will love.
 

A day in the life of...

We’re looking for a Flavour Development Manager (m/f/d) to work at our NPTC in Singen. You will develop savoury flavour for multiple Food categories globally. You will be asked to drive the collection, interpretation and application of scientific findings into the development of new product concepts and solving existing business issues and opportunities. You will also be required to set-up and implement the future scientific strategy in this field. This will require working both with business partners and with scientific experts in the flavour world (within Nestle and in academia).

 

Other key responsibilities will include:

 

  • Act as Savoury flavour expert for the company, bringing innovation into the business by leveraging Nestlé R&D networks, and external partners such as academic institutions and suppliers.
  • Be aware of and act upon latest scientific developments and consumer trends in the area of Food/Savoury flavour.

What will make you successful?

  • Being an experienced professional, you will possess a Higher University degree (PhD or equivalent) in the field of Flavour Chemistry, Food Science or Food Chemistry, Chemical or Food engineering, Nutrition, Biochemistry, having extensive flavour and R&D experience.
  • Many years of Savoury experience as Favourist/Sr. Flavourist is considered a must.
  • Demonstrate the ability to develop scientific research programs within industry and/or academia.
  • Have experience with product development groups/application teams, being able to translate science into working prototypes.
  • Have experience of managing complex R&D projects and stakeholders.
  • Be able to communicate complex scientific results/research areas in an easily understood way that instils credibility across the business.
  • Work with team members both internally and externally in an highly proactive and cooperative manner.
  • Have the willingness to transfer knowledge and be able to coach, mentor junior colleagues and PhD students.
  • Excellent networking skills and proactivity.
  • Proven leadership skills and passion for people.
