Position Summary

Being a Senior Flavour Specialist (m/f/diverse) in the world’s largest food manufacturer is a fantastic opportunity. It’s a role requiring you to apply your scientific expertise to help develop Food products that consumers will love.
We’re looking for a Senior Flavour Specialist (m/f/diverse) to work at our NPTC in Singen. You will develop savoury flavour-based projects, including the collection, interpretation and application of scientific findings into developing new product concepts and solving existing business issues and opportunities. You will also be required to set-up and implement the future scientific strategy in this field. This will require working both with business partners and with scientific experts in the flavour world (within Nestle and in academia).


Other key responsibilities will include:

 

  • Act as Food-flavour expert for the company, bringing innovation into the business by leveraging Nestlé R&D networks, and external partners such as academic institutions and suppliers.
  • Be aware of and act upon latest scientific developments and consumer trends in the area of Food/Savoury flavour.
     
A day in the life of...

Being an experienced professional, you will possess a Higher University degree (PhD or equivalent) in the field of Flavour Chemistry, Food Science or Food Chemistry, having extensive flavour and R&D experience.

 

You will:

 

  • Have worked in flavour chemistry within the food industry preferably with Savoury experience.
  • Demonstrate the ability to develop scientific research programs within industry and/or academia.
  • Be able to communicate complex scientific results/research areas in an easily understood way that instils credibility across the business.
  • Have experience with product development groups, being able to translate science into working prototypes.
  • Ideally have experience of managing complex projects.
  • Work with team members both internal and externally in a proactive and cooperative manner.
  • Have the willingness to transfer knowledge and be able to coach, mentor junior colleagues, placement and PhD students.
  • Excellent networking skills and proactivity.
