Fantastic Opportunity for an Electrical & Automation Engineer to join our Smithtown Factory (Milo and Café Menu products). This position is responsible for overseeing and managing E&A project within the manufacturing and production facilities.
A day in the life…
Reporting to the End-to-End Project Manager, you will be part of a collaborative team passionate about delivering major projects. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Project planning and coordination: responsible for planning and coordinating E&A projects, include defining scopes, objectives, deliverables. You will work closely with cross functional team: Operation, Maintenance, external contractor, etc. to ensure successful project execution.
- Manage project’s E&A scopes from design through to installation, maintenance, operation, improvement and upgrade as part of a site electrical strategy.
- Participates in Capital Investments projects ensuring that the technical solution follows corporate and market standards, include following areas: powder handling process, filling & packing line, palletising robots, infrastructure, and building services.
- Design engineering: you will be responsible for designing E&A systems of projects, or modifications to existing system including creating electrical schematic, control panel layout, programming PLC and automation systems.
- Budgeting and cost control: responsible for preparing project budget, estimating cost, monitoring expenses to ensure projects are completed within budget. You will work closely with Project Engineering Manager and Procurement colleagues to source and procure necessary equipment and installation and commissioning materials.
- Project implementation: you will oversee the installation, commissioning and testing of E&A systems. This involves coordinating with contractors, conducting inspections and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industrial standards.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation: you will conduct risk assessment to identify E&A potential hazards and develop mitigation strategies. You will implement safety measures to ensure a safe working environment for all project stakeholders.
- Project documentation: you will maintain accurate documentation of project E&A plan, specifications, drawings, and change orders. You will also prepare E&A project reports, and update Leadership team and concerned stakeholders.
- Training and Support: you will provide training and support to the Production team on the operational new E&A systems. You will ensure that the team is equipped with necessary E&A knowledges and skills to effectively utilize the new systems.
- Continuous improvement: you will identify opportunity for process optimization and automation to implement improvements to enhance productivity.
What will make you successful
- Joining a collaborative team of specialists, you will be a strong leader with a drive to deliver quality outcomes.
- Minimum Bachelor degree in Electrical and Automation/ Mechatronics.
- Minimum 5 years Automation and/or MES engineer with Electrical experience in Food and Beverages, FMCG, Pharmaceutical or similar.
- Experience in Personnel Supervision of technical teams, contractors or other 3rd parties.
- Participation in the development of engineering projects as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Participation in the start-up of technical equipment(s) and/or production line(s)
- Exposure to TPM, preventive maintenance planning and/or maintenance execution desired but not required.
- Proficient in installation, programming and troubleshooting of Allen Bradley PLC’s and variable speed drives – desired, SCADA, MCC, DBs, Dust explosion, instrumentation, Digital transformation, filling and packing, palletising machines; building services (HVAC, fire, hygiene, ICT, lighting, CCTV, etc.) is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of instrumentation and process control, real time management, MES (Manufacturing Execution System), man/machine interfaces and communication, computer hardware etc.
- The right person must be proactive, thorough and detailed, with a high level of relationship building.
- Excellent communication skills and a proven capacity to influence and negotiate to drive high standards of performance and quality, project management skills
