The Smithtown team are looking for a Permanent Factory Analyst to join the team. Your key responsibility will be to support the Factory in the pursuit of cost optimisation, inventory management and compliance at the factory by providing visibility and insight into manufacturing variances.
This position is expected to be a “second level leader” – you are to work as a co-pilot with the Production Manager, assist in setting appropriate direction, and supporting the factory in delivery of results. The Factory Analyst needs to be skilled at challenging the factory with respect and drive a zero-loss mentality. The Factory Analyst is also expected to be the subject matter expert in relevant areas (e.g., manufacturing costing, savings calculation, prioritisation)
This role is based in Smithtown NSW.
Responsibilities:
- Provide a Finance ‘co-pilot’ to the Production Team in the pursuit of cost improvement opportunities
- Coordinate reporting of actual costs: preparation of input data such as labour hours for Period-end Close (PEC); ensuring that the Costing Standards for Manufacturing (CSM) are followed.
- Provide product cost estimates and liaise with appropriate stakeholders to support Operational Master Planning (OMP), New Product Development (NPD) and product formulation changes
- Ensure compliance with internal controls by providing root cause analysis of daily, weekly and monthly variance reporting, revision of line standards through the quarterly review process and completion of master data workflow.
- Assist the Factory Controller in communicating financial results, opportunities and actions to all stakeholders across the organisation.
- Determine cycle count frequency based on ABC Inventory analysis and documented criteria. Ensure stocktake timing is clearly communicated, and resources are available to complete stocktake in an effective manner.
- Reconcile cycle count results and ensure all adjustments are promptly approved and processed according to procedures and deadlines.
Skills and Experience:
- A Project leadership and focussed improvement mindset
- Financial degree qualification is necessary
- Manufacturing costing experience: ideally within a factory or supply chain environment is highly regarded.
- Fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry experience is a plus.
- Strong power BI and Microsoft excel skills.
- SAP experience is desirable
