We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Project Management to join the Technical & Production team in Nestlé headquarters in Rhodes, Sydney.
This role will lead and manage market capex/investment projects by coordinating stakeholders from project initiation to start-up, ensuring sustained performance. Focus on delivering capabilities that support business goals such as consumer satisfaction, compliance excellence, and competitive advantage, while overseeing a cross-functional team to achieve expected returns on investment through flawless execution.
A day in the life…
Reporting to the Chief Engineer, Oceania and delivering planned objectives in the Technical & Production (T&P) Engineering strategy, key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Define the project scope, success criteria, and milestone deliverables that support business objectives in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
- Build the investment project charter. Ensure available standards and best practices, as well as understanding of current category loss tree are revised as part of the project planning.
- Execute the basic and detailed design of the project based on Nestlé Corporate Business Principles, Nestlé standards, local regulations.
- Lead VSED activity and coordinate the preparation of supply chain concept. Support the Development of an Operation Start-up Plan to ensure a Vertical Start-up can be achieved.
- Ensure the required design reviews are effective and collaborative to gain final alignment on the basic design.
- Lead the team and coordinate the contribution of all stakeholders to ensure the project implemented in accordance with the defined timing, cost and quality.
- Manage the required interactions outside of Nestlé to ensure that the external resources are available. Manage the procurement activities.
- Complete a smooth handover to operations after the qualification and verification of the installation.
- Support the preparation and distribution of the project documentation.
- Define the project change management plans. Determine the need for change requests, and either approve or reject changes as authorised.
- Ensure that the investment project charter has been fulfilled and that the project scope is achieved within the agreed cost and timing.
- Be the market project team leader, meaning integrating, motivating, feed backing, coaching, developing, managing and evaluating team members.
What will make you successful
- Joining a collaborative team of specialists, you will be a strong leader with a drive to deliver quality outcomes with efficiency and with a passion for continuous process improvement.
- 10 years’ experience in an international project environment context within which, projects were defined and budgeted, assessed and implemented (entire project lifecycle).
- Managing Capital Investment projects in food industry.
- Experience in behaviour-based safety application, factory operations and leading start-up operations.
- Participation in an Early Management, cleaning and hygienic engineering workshops.
- Preparation of a major CAPEX project submission and Project planning (as per PMI definition).
- Strong leadership and people management skills; experienced in leading technical, multicultural teams and contractors.
- Experience managing people development (performance management, coaching, competences training, career and succession planning, recruitment and development).
- Ability of Self-Management following defined KPIs/Objectives, and proactively tracking them
