Fantastic Opportunity for a Junior Technologist to join our MILO Smithtown Factory. MILO®, Australia's iconic crunchy milk drink, was first introduced in 1934 by chemical engineer, Thomas Mayne from Smithtown, NSW. Here is your chance to join an iconic brand.
Opportunity currently exists for a Junior Technologist to join the Applications team based in our Smithtown Factory. In this role, you will develop and support the introduction of new products and optimisation projects, processes and packaging within the business.
A day in the life…
Reporting to the Applications Group Manager, key responsibilities of the role include:
- Support the development & execution of New Product Development (NPD) Innovation and Renovation projects.
- Ensure required data for raw materials, products and packaging are collated as needed to meet technical, sustainability, safety, food safety and regulatory compliance.
- Build knowledge of relevant legislations (Food Standards, safety legislation, Nestle Standards etc.) and ensure that the relevant legislation is applied to activities.
- Build technical skills and personal development through completion of appropriate training and participation in relevant activities.
- Build knowledge of NCE tools and techniques to identify opportunities for improvement work. Develop knowledge of factory products and processes that support our BU.
- Build networks internally and externally.
- Participate in SAP super-user networks to share skills and continually develop SAP skills and updates. Key point of contact for import/export network internal and external communications.
- Participate in audits and other regulatory and compliance activities for the team.
- Co-ordinate team and manage inputs and updates to the Service Now tool for all Sustainability projects.
- Participate in team activities, including some administrative duties as assigned by the Sustainability and Innovation Lead.
What will make you successful
- Joining a collaborative team of specialists, you will be a strong team member with a drive to deliver quality outcomes with efficiency and with a passion for continuous process improvement.
- Enjoy working within cross-functional teams in a dynamic work environment.
- Tertiary Qualified in Food Science, Applied Science, Engineering or similar field of study.
- Recent graduate or 1 years’ experience in Food Manufacturing Industry in Product and/or Packaging Development desired.
- A working understanding of Australian Food Regulations is beneficial.
- Private transportation to and from the site would be required. Limited public transport options available.
