This role is for you If you are a natural leader with proven experience in people management, and a continuous improvement/LEAN mind-set with the capability to drive improvement through employee engagement and development.
A day in the life…
Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for driving optimal performance and promoting continuous improvement to ensure your production lines operate smoothly and successfully. Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Lead, coach and manage the team to excel in achieving line standards associated with production runs and the standard conditions & routines associated with Safety & the 4M's (Man, Machine, Method, Material)
- Ensure continuous line Controls & immediate corrective action (initiating problem solving as applicable).
- Achieve a "zero injury, defect, waste" mindset & promote behaviours that have a positive impact on Safety Health Environment & Quality. Promote and manage risk awareness by engaging and coaching the teams
- Lead implementation of SHE & QA objectives, practices and procedures.
- Ensure compliance to Nestle and external requirements
- Ensure maintenance reliability of installations in coordination with quality, engineering & administration
- Contribute to the smooth operation of factory through effective employee and industrial relations management
- Excel in systems & administration e.g., rostering, KRONOS, DMO, SAP etc
What will make you successful
- Joining a collaborative team of specialists, you will be a strong team leader with a drive to deliver quality outcomes with efficiency and with a passion for continuous process improvement.
- Minimum 3+ years previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role, ideally, within a FMCG production environment.
- Possess knowledge in food manufacturing or degree/Diploma in Food sciences or engineering.
- Experience in change management and exposure to continuous improvement techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, train and develop a group of people
- It is essential that you have excellent people management skills, with a continuous improvement mind-set and demonstrable experience in leading and engaging a team to motivate and enhance performance.
- You will demonstrate strong communication, negotiation, problem solving, analysis, decision-making abilities.
