Level 3 | Location: Smithtown | 1X Permanent 

 

POSITION SUMMARY

To support the Logistics team, we are seeking experienced Logistics Operator who are enthusiastic, hardworking and enjoy a fast paced and dynamic work environment.

 

A DAY IN THE LIFE...

Reporting to the Line Manager, your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Forklift operation for materials movements on site including the loading and unloading of trucks
  • Use of warehouse management systems to receipt, appropriately store and maintain inventory accuracy of raw and pack materials
  • Ability to work to deadlines to ensure timely despatch of finished goods to Distribution Centre’s and inter-factory movements
  • The staging of raw & pack materials to support Production Schedules
  • Active participation in Daily Operations Review and team meetings
  • To assist in the setup of standardising of procedures and documentation
  • To assist in achieving the program plan and KPIs on a daily basis
  • Detailed cleaning of plant and equipment
  • Apply safety, quality and hygiene standards and follow work instructions
  • Conduct incoming goods inspections and Chain of Responsibility checks along with maintaining good inventory control practices
  • A focus on continuous improvement and project work

 

WHAT WILL MAKE YOU SUCCESSFUL?

  • Be able to use computer-based warehouse management systems
  • Have the ability to work well in a team environment and have good time management skills
  • Your attention to detail will be well developed along with great communication skills
  • The ability to be flexible and adapt at short notice

 

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

  • Have a work history in warehousing, material handling and structured problem-solving skills
  • Continuous improvement project work experience
  • Current forklift licence
  • Ability to do rotating shifts between mornings and afternoons.
