Fantastic Opportunities currently exist for Project Engineer to join our Smithtown Factory. Smithtown is the home of MILO®, Australia's iconic crunchy milk drink, and more recently Nescafe single serve Café Menu range.
In this role, the Process Engineer will manage allocated design and develop processes to produce coffee mixes, ensuring quality, safety, procurement, installation and commissioning elements of the project in Factory with compliance and efficiency of the technical, business and financial aspects of the project.
A day in the life…
Reporting to the E2E Project Manager, responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, production, and quality control, to identify process improvement opportunities and implement solutions.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost analysis for new project, considering factors such as equipment, materials, and labour requirements.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process flow diagrams.
- Lead and participate in process optimization and troubleshooting activities, identifying root causes of issues and implementing corrective actions.
- Collaborate with equipment vendors and suppliers to select and procure appropriate machinery and materials for the coffee mixes line.
- Conduct process validation and qualification activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
- Train and mentor production staff on new processes and equipment, ensuring smooth transition and effective knowledge transfer.
- Monitor and analyse process data, identifying trends and opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in coffee mixes production, incorporating new technologies and best practices into the process.
- Ensure updating/creating of site technical drawings and documentation.
What will make you successful
- Joining a collaborative team of specialists, you will be a strong communicator with a drive to deliver quality outcomes against the project charter with efficiency and with a passion for continuous process improvement.
- Completion of tertiary study in Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent.
- 3 to 5+ years’ Engineering experience.
- Familiarity with the food and beverage industry, preferably in coffee mixes production. Understanding of the specific requirements, regulations, and quality standards in this industry is essential.
- Experience with Engineering software and manual drawing and skills-i.e. AutoCAD.
- Experience in managing projects from initiation to completion. This includes project planning, resource allocation, timeline management, and effective communication with cross-functional teams.
- Leaders will require a proven track record in delivering results by working with cross-functional teams, experience in managing and leading teams.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills and a proven capacity to influence and negotiate to drive high standards of performance and quality.
- Self-management following defined KPIs/Objectives and proactively tracking them.
