Production Planner
Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled professional to develop, sequence, and implement comprehensive factory production schedules aimed at maximizing throughput and enhancing key performance metrics, including Customer Order Fulfillment (COF) and On-Time In-Full (OTIF) performance. This role is responsible for translating the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and demand signals into actionable, finite-capacity schedules. The ideal candidate will adeptly balance various constraints - such as materials availability, changeover times, labor resources, maintenance windows, and quality standards - to ensure safe, efficient, reliable and optimum production processes while achieving inventory targets.
A day in the life
- Ensure Customer Service levels are met for domestic, New Zealand, and any external customers.
- Develop and execute a supply plan for timely stock availability.
- Manage stock holdings to minimize excess, aged, and obsolete inventory.
- Collaborate with demand planning and factory teams to enhance product freshness.
- Create contingency plans to address potential stock issues.
- Communicate accurate stock availability information to support customer needs.
- Oversee the NPD process for timely product launches and effective inventory management.
- Measure and report on Adherence to Production Plan (APP) and Volume Attainment.
- Negotiate shift and capacity plans with Factory Management to optimize supply and reduce labor costs.
- Prepare and lead weekly and monthly Production Planning and supply review meetings.
- Support OMP and SAP improvements and participate in Factory Supply Chain projects.
- Proactively communicate any changes to locked weekly plans to Factory Supply Chain stakeholders in a timely manner, enabling necessary actions to maintain warehouse stock levels within defined maximum limits
- Plan for aging stock and reworks to maximize stocks utilization and avoid expiring stocks
- Represent local factory requirements in relevant discussions.
- Actively participate in safety, tagging, and leadership @ shopfloor initiatives in collaboration with cross-functional factory teams
What will make you successful:
- A minimum of two years of relevant operational experience at the market or business level is preferred.
- Experience in at least one of the following areas:
- Factory Planning
- Supply Network Planning
- Procurement
- Supply Chain Development
- Factory Production Team Leadership
- Familiarity with the following processes is highly advantageous:
- Product Lifecycle Management
- Factory Master Data Management
