Fantastic Opportunities currently exist for Project Engineer to join our Smithtown Factory. Smithtown is the home of MILO®, Australia's iconic crunchy milk drink, and more recently Nescafe single serve Café Menu range.

 

Project Engineers lead and manage the entire project life cycle of capital investment project from concept to execution within the operating factory environment. They ensure cross-functional teams deliver objectives aligned to the various project charters.

 

A day in the life…

 

Reporting to Project Engineering Manager, key responsibilities could include:

 

  • Preliminary analysis for projects including building, utilities, services, equipment, and layout.
  • Managing implementation of equipment and related scopes (design e.g., User Requirement Specifications, procurement, fabrication, testing/ FAT, shipment, reception, installation/ IQ, commissioning/ SAT (OQ, PQ) and handover) ensuring the safety and quality of the plant, products and personnel.
  • Be responsible for the scope, schedule, budget, quality and risk management.
  • Updating/creating technical and managerial drawings, documents, presentations, and reports.
  • Executing the basic and detailed design of the project based on Nestlé Corporate Business Principles, Nestlé standards, local and international relevant regulations.
  • Ensuring safety by design during both construction and the ongoing operation of the plant.
  • Lead the contribution of all the stakeholders, work with other engineering streams (E&A, civil, powder process) to implement the project in accordance with the defined timing, cost and quality.
  • Lead technical efforts to enable start-up manager and team to smoothly transit to operation: provide technical details for SOP development; lead Root Cause Analysis to address Unplanned Stoppages, ensure production volume, and improve Asset Intensity/ equipment efficiency.
  • Selecting, qualifying and coordination of contractors’ activities.
  • Related equipment includes powder filling machines, cartoner, conveyor, case packer, palletiser and their accessories include roller door, case printer, reel lifter, static scales, racking, etc.

 

What will make you successful

 

  • Completion of tertiary study in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the engineering field, food manufacturing environment – preferred
  • assion and Respect, Quality of works more than timeline
  • Be a strong communicator, Project Management skills, developed analytical and budgetary skills.
  • Working with cross-functional teams, experience in managing and leading teams.
  • Timely, proactive and courageous communication, excellent  presentation skills and a proven capacity to influence and negotiate to drive high standards of performance and quality.
  • Self-management following defined KPIs/Objectives, and proactively tracking them.
