Opportunity currently exists for a Senior Food Technologist to join Applications team based in our Smithtown Factory.
A day in the life of...
Reporting to the Applications Group Manager, the Senior Food Technologist will act as a key point of contact between Nestlé Health Science marketing team and the factory to develop and progress new products and strengthen existing product portfolio in accordance to strategic marketing plan.
Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Key liaison Nestlé Health Science (NHSc) between marketing and factory departments
• Implement NPD pipeline at Smithtown Site in line with Marketing briefs by working with suppliers, leading factory teams to organise trials, commissioning, and evaluation of results.
• Manage existing product portfolio on site including recipe approvals, validations releases and act as Regulatory and Medical Affairs Liaison for NHSc in the factory
• Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for value enhancing claims within the business. This will include market lead activities and Nestlé global initiatives
• Support proactive and reactive initiatives within the Applications Group, product, and manufacturing area
• Support “Zero injury, defect and waste” mind-set and promote behaviours that have a positive impact on Safety, Health, Environment and Quality.
• Ensure product portfolio comply with relevant Food & Trade Practices legislation in conjunction with Applications Group Manager.
What will make you successful
• Tertiary Qualified in Food Science / Technology / Chemistry, Engineering or related subjects
• 5-10 years’ experience in Food Manufacturing Industry in Product Development.
• Complemented by Food/Liquid Pharma industry experience within the product category.
• Strong team player with a drive to deliver quality outcomes with efficiency and with a passion for continuous process improvement.
• Enjoy working within cross-functional teams in a dynamic work environment.
• Key understanding of risk in processing, powder filling, processing parameters on quality and shelf life.
• Different technology experience in blending, fortification in powdered, ready to drink, bars and related products
• Key understanding on life science as immune system and gut health etc.
• Project Management experience involving a range of projects of varying size
• Factory experience in one or multiple category of products
• Proven track record in delivering results by working with cross-functional teams (with or without direct reports)
Applicants must be eligible to work in Australia and have Permanent Residency.

COVID-19 vaccination may be required to perform this role, based on the Public Health Orders applicable in some States and Territories and/or conditions of premises entry set by our customers. You will be required to provide evidence of your vaccination or medical exemption as part of our recruitment process.

Vaccination evidence includes:
• an immunisation history statement
• a COVID-19 digital certificate
• an email or other document (printed or electronic) from the Department of Home Affairs that confirms a person has completed an Australia Travel Declaration and has been vaccinated against COVID-19 overseas
• a medical exemption, which includes a medical contraindication certificate
