The Commercial Development Manager owns the Go-To-Market strategy and execution for assigned sales channels to deliver the annual operating plan and sales objectives. This role sets the pace with speed, agility, collaboration, and courage, driving decisions and results across Sales, Marketing, Pricing, Supply Chain, and Finance.

 

Reports to: Senior Manager, Commercial Development

 

Key Responsibilities

Leadership 

  • Serves as Subject Matter Expert of assigned portfolio and influences others outside of own job area.
  • Advocates across all functions to meet consumer, customer, team member, and business needs.
  • Communicates vision, strategy, and tactics to stakeholders up, down, and across the company.    
  • Works directly with customers, from tactical to executive level, to develop and implement new programs at scale.
  • Has strong self-awareness, is a self-starter, and leads autonomously. 
  • Has the ability to prioritize activities and orchestrate resources for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Demonstrates agility with an ability to quickly adapt to change and pivot, as needed.
  • Possesses a strong focus on needs of Foodservice customers, operators, and consumers.
  • Is an end-to-end thinker that can make sound decisions that benefit the entire ecosystem. 
  • Is a pace setter that leads the portfolio that sets Nestlé apart from our competitors.
  • Is a strong collaborator and builds rapport, transparency, trust, and strong culture with stakeholders.

 

Planning and Execution 

  • Own portfolio performance and ensure delivery of sales and profitability goals.
  • Develop and execute plans to acquire, implement, grow, and retain accounts. 
  • Analyze business drivers, category and channel trends, and customer insights to identify opportunities, mitigate risks, and close gaps.
  • Provide direct input into forecasting; represent Sales in new product launches and discontinuations.
  • Support Sales team with customer presentations and joint business planning.
  • Maintain competitive, channel, and customer intelligence to inform strategy.
  • Lead and/or participate in projects that advance commercial priorities.

 

Experience

  • 5+ years in Sales, Category, Marketing, or related functions in a matrixed organization.
  • Proven ability to execute sales strategies and deliver results.
  • Advanced communication and analytical skills; proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI.
  • CRM experience; Foodservice channel knowledge preferred. 

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, required
  • Advanced business and financial acumen.
  • Advanced skill in communication, leadership, and stakeholder management.
  • Advanced skill in Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, CRM systems.
  • Proficient skill level using artificial intelligence business tools such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot.
  • Proficient knowledge of Foodservice channels (preferred).
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.

 The approximate target compensation range for this role is $130K to $150K. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.
