Role Summary
This Commercial Development Manager is responsible for operational planning and execution across a 0–12 month horizon. This role leads the CD elements of ICP and MBP/IBP processes, serves as the CD subject matter expert for SRM, and owns foundational planning elements for the Enterprise Forecast Tracker (EFT). The manager drives tactical alignment, rapid scenario response, and continuous improvement, ensuring the division is agile and responsive to market dynamics. This role maintains a dotted-line relationship to the Dynamic Planning Team to ensure plans are aligned to enterprise processes and standards.
Key Clarifications and Responsibilities
• The CD is not the full owner of the ICP, MBP/IBP, or SRM processes. Instead, this role leads CD’s responsibilities within each process.
• Owns ICP means being accountable for the CAP and Align Sessions, ensuring strategic alignment and execution.
• Collaborates with Sales, Finance, and Supply Chain to ensure operational plans are executable and aligned with strategic priorities.
• Supports the translation of strategic direction from the Long Term plan into actionable short-term plans. Responsibilities Detail Category Growth
• Accountable for achieving category growth targets for assigned categories/segments. Lead CD elements of the ICP Planning Process
• Owns ICP phase management, facilitating and driving progress from milestone to milestone, ensuring all key deliverables are met on time and in alignment with strategic priorities.
• Accountable for prioritizing key customers and coordinating the facilitation of Optimize
• Develops and facilitates the Commercial Action Plan (CAP) call, ensuring CAPs are actionable, tailored to channel/customer needs, and aligned with enterprise and division priorities.
• Accountable for facilitating and delivering Align Sessions, ensuring cross functional alignment and readiness for execution.
• Coordinates cross-functional stakeholders for timely execution of all ICP deliverables, acting as the central point of contact for operationalizing the plan.
• Owns tracking of CAP performance and optimization routines, driving in-year impact and continuous improvement. Lead CD elements of the MBP/IBP Planning Process
• Own the standards and process for CD responsibilities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners on the MBP/IBP planning calendar and coordinate stakeholders for timely execution.
• Ensure voice of customer is represented in the MBP/IBP process. Serve as SRM Subject Matter Expert for CD
• Translate strategic goals into short-term pricing, promotion, and mix strategies.
• Partner with Sales and Finance to optimize SRM execution and ROI.
• Monitor performance and influence adjustments Own CD Building Blocks for EFT
• Accountable for Consumption-based forecasting at the category based on the following building blocks:
• New Items, Promotions (inclusive of Shopper Marketing), Pricing • Ensure forecasting accuracy and data integrity for short-term planning.
• Champion the use of digital tools and analytics to enhance forecast reliability. Support Crisis Planning and Scenario Response
• Participate in crisis committees and lead issue resolution efforts.
• Develop contingency plans and manage rapid scenario responses.
• Communicate risks and mitigation strategies to leadership.
Drive Continuous Improvement
• Conduct post-mortem reviews to identify planning gaps and successes.
• Implement process improvements to enhance planning efficiency.
• Promote a culture of learning and agility within the planning team.
Key Experiences/Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Sales, Commercial Planning, Finance, Supply Chain, or related business functions.
• Demonstrated expertise in operational planning, scenario management, and execution.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional planning processes (ICP, MBP/IBP) and facilitate alignment sessions.
• Strong knowledge of Strategic Revenue Management (SRM) principles and experience partnering with Sales and Finance to optimize ROI.
• Experience with consumption-based forecasting, including new item launches, promotions, and pricing strategies.
• Proficiency in digital tools and analytics platforms for forecasting and planning (e.g., Power BI, Excel).
• Track record of supporting crisis planning, rapid scenario response, and contingency plan development.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate strategic direction into actionable short-term plans.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to coordinate and align diverse teams.
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement, process optimization, and fostering a culture of learning and agility.

The approximate target compensation range for this role is $130K to $145K. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.
