POSITION SUMMARY

The Electromechanical Technician is a multi-skilled professional responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment to ensure maximum uptime and performance. This role ensures proactive maintenance, rapid resolution of equipment issues, and continuous improvement of mechanical and electrical systems across the facility. The technician also supports operator training to build technical capability and operational excellence.

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday.  2nd Shift, 1:30pm-10pm. Potential Weekends based on Business Need

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Mechanical Responsibilities

- Service, diagnose, and repair production equipment.

- Apply working knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, chain/belt drives, bearings, gearboxes, pumps, valves, fasteners, seals, gaskets, mechanical fabrication, and rigging.

- Follow work standards and comply with LOTO and all safety permitting.

 

Electrical & Automation Responsibilities

- Service and repair production electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, AC/DC motors, transformers, machine and line control devices, instrumentation, and VFDs.

- Demonstrate safe work practices with low- and medium-voltage systems.

- Interpret and troubleshoot basic PLC logic.

 

Equipment & Systems Supported

- Ingredient handling and preparation systems.

- Milk plant systems: cold separator, CIP plant, standardization.

- Packaging equipment: labelers, case packers, palletizers, conveyors.

- Storage and retrieval systems including cranes and automated conveyors.

 

Maintenance Execution

- Perform Preventive and Predictive Maintenance per schedule.

- Create follow-up work notifications and improvement recommendations in SAP.

- Complete all assigned work safely, efficiently, and to standard.

- Lead or support continuous improvement activities including PM optimization and NCE initiatives.

- Review and recommend spare parts for optimal warehouse service levels.

 

Collaboration & Training

- Provide technical training to operators.

- Support a positive workplace culture aligned with Nestlé values.

- Engage as an active team member to achieve site goals in safety, quality, and cost.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education

- High School Diploma or GED required.

- Two-year technical degree in Industrial or Electromechanical Maintenance, Robotics, or related field preferred.

- Internal/external certifications may be required.

 

Experience

- 1–3 years in a manufacturing environment required (food industry preferred).

- 1+ years of industrial electrical/controls experience preferred.

 

Required Skills & Competencies

- Understanding of automated equipment and component functionality.

- Proficient in industrial electrical systems, electromechanical troubleshooting, instrumentation, and fluid power.

- Ability to read and interpret control circuits and ladder logic.

- Skilled in mechanical/electrical tools and diagnostic instruments.

- Effective communication with operators, trades, and plant personnel.

- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.

- Familiarity with CMMS software and production workflows (SAP preferred).

- Strong problem-solving ability and continuous improvement mindset.

- Reliable, motivated, and committed to team success.

- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

- Detail-oriented with strong documentation habits.

- Able to work 12-hour shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime.

- Comfortable navigating computer systems to locate and record information.

- Strong conflict-resolution and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
