POSITION SUMMARY
Support pilot plant operations through coordination of activities, materials, and equipment across product technologies.  

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
•    Orders ingredients, stocks supplies, inventories samples and assembles customer shipments.   Required to complete training for safe handling of dry ice as SOP requires.
•    Participation in departmental activities such as panels, meetings, committees, administrative obligations (phone, e-mail).
•    Must have and maintain safe driving record and valid driver’s license to operate company owned vehicles.  
•    Assisting when needed in outside building sanitation, inspection or activities as needed.
•    Must maintain accurate, thorough records.   
•    Maintaining technical/culinary skills and personal improvement through appropriate activities.
•    Working in extreme temperatures and typical commercial/industrial environments. Physically demanding work. 
•    Continually demonstrating proficient communications and ability to work in a team environment under short timelines. 
•    Work schedule may vary depending on business needs.  

•    Coordinate and perform maintenance and sanitation activities including set up/tear down of equipment, PMs, spare parts inventories, trouble shooting, minor repairs.
•    Provide processing and product improvement suggestions based on observations and system knowledge.  Serve as processing resource as teams utilize the pilot plant equipment.
•    Adhering to high sanitation, GMP, safety standards.  Responsible for keeping pilot plant well organized and clean, and assisting with lower level storage areas as needed.
•    Other projects and duties as assigned

 

REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:
Must be comfortable working in food manufacturing and culinary environments.
Must have a good driving record and valid driver’s license.
Must be willing to travel occasionally.
Must be able to vary work as needed to accomplish business needs.

 

EXPERIENCE:
2 to 3 years of food-industry experience, preferred

 

SKILLS:
•    The individual must have good creative, problem solving and organizational skills, as well as good communications skills. 
•    Strong mechanical/electrical troubleshooting skills are desirable.
•    Experience with a variety of mechanical, electrical and/or food processing systems is desirable.  
•    Individual must be able to work independently while able to support the overall objectives of a team.  
•    Candidate must be able to thrive in a fast paced, multi-project/task environment and be comfortable working with people of varying disciplines and levels: upper management, sales, product development, marketing, R&D, manufacturing, and plant personnel.  
•    Proficient in Microsoft Office and FMS/DIS preferred.
•    Computer proficiency in electronic communication. 
•    Proficient in time management. 
•    Good math and problem solving skills. 
•    Able to work in a team environment.
